I'm with you, I have been thinking on getting a personal trainer. I understand that hormones and other health issues like thyroids can generate people to be obese and such. However, I think that once you start swimming you could get way fitter than when you start. I have read this book called "Atomic Habits" which can get you there on the long run.
I am obese myself right now, but just 10 years ago I was way slimmer mostly because of eating too much out and having a stationary lifestyle. So having a personal trainer he/she could put you on a healthy lifestyle and nutrition, not just one comment from a generic doctor but a specialist on healthy lifestyle.
From what you been talking about, it seems that none of the people that look you up are specialists or have any experience with weight loss. Mostly because part of it, is supportive of creating that change. From a simple routine, to steadily increasing until you can take care of the extra pounds.
I am also interested about your gaming rig, wonder what video card are you using, and which games you usually play. I am a GNU/Linux user and I have for the longest, not played games because I have enough stuff on Unix to keep me busy like coding, drawing, 3D and lately AI LLMS.

I feel way fitter (if chronic illness wasnt in the way) since putting on weight around lockdowns than when I was skinny or "healthy " according to society. I'll have a multi part series on my gaming rig. Im paring it with a GeForce RTX 5050.
