Rewriting stories: how trials turn into miracles ENG/ESP

in FreeCompliments6 days ago

Sometimes life throws us events that seem too difficult to bear. Traumatic memories or upsetting episodes can carry the burden of pain for years. But I have noticed that if we change our perspective on these stories, they begin to work for us rather than against us. Positive psychology teaches us to see difficulties not as dead ends, but as tests. If we imagine ourselves as heroes who have had to go through trials, even the most difficult events take on new meaning. They become part of a story where I am not the victim, but the main character who overcame obstacles and emerged stronger.

Why it works

• Rescripting is a technique that helps rewrite the internal script of traumatic events. We do not change the facts of the past, but we change how we perceive them.

• Every time we remember an event, the brain actually recreates it. This means that we can add new meanings: instead of pain — a lesson, instead of fear — strength.

• This approach reduces anxiety, strengthens the sense of control and helps to build healthier behavioural strategies.
Personal experience

When I mentally return to difficult moments, I try to see them as trials that have tempered me. Yes, it was painful. Yes, it was hard. But it was precisely because of these events that I learned resilience, patience and self-belief.

And you know, it really works wonders. My inner narrative changes: I am no longer someone who was broken by circumstances, but someone who went through them and became stronger.

A little advice

Try rewriting one of your stories. Imagine that you are the hero of a book or film. What qualities did you display? What helped you survive? What lessons did you learn? This perspective does not take away the pain, but it turns it into a resource.

✨ Dear readers, may each of your days be filled with light and confidence. May any trials become steps towards growth, and may your mood today be light and joyful. I wish you a good day and inspiration!

¿Qué lecciones has aprendido?
