It's a l lot of fun. Good detectors tend to be expensive, and what you buy should be suited for what you are looking for. Beaches are always fun because people lose all sorts of stuff there, but you'll find bottle caps way too often! I bought a Garret ATX specifically for nugget hunting because it could find nuggets down to close to 0.1 grams.
