I have seen the game Crownrend when it went live. And since them I have been trying to figure out a way to get 20 HIVE liquid so I could start the game. Well today I stopped being an idiot and realized I would deposit LTC to Hive-Engine and swap it. So today we start my adventure in Crownrend!
It cost me 19.582 HIVE and without further ago lets get into it!
I have intentionally NOT read any detailed articles on the game because I wanted to start my own journey fresh and learn as I go.
And we need to create a Kingdom Name... crap I forgot this was a thing and spent zero time figuring out a clever name. I guess "Valhalla" will have to do!
And I guess we are just in the game then huh?
From what I gather you have a Army that you can level up with 'DENAR'. You can also level up your profit/passive earning of 'DENAR' by spending 'DENAR'.
Then you just go and raid other Kingdoms and try to take their 'DENAR'. What I do like is that you are only trying to steal their unclaimed DENAR and not DENAR in your inventory. I also found out you can only claim your unclaimed DENAR every 4 hours. So that will be more and more interesting as people progress higher up the ranks and earn more passively.
I scrolled further down and saw the Battle Hall where you will find the other Kingdoms that you can raid.
I leveled up a few things but figured why not just get into it. Again with knowing nothing about the interworking's of the game I just said 'screw it' and battled the first 2 people I saw. And lost both haha
I went back and spent the rest of the 10 DENAR you start with on levelling up things and went back to the Battle Hall.
This time I specifically looked for people with the lowest defense and battled them. I went on a 3 for 3 battle win streak with that strategy.
I am not winning crazy amounts of DANER but winning anything is always great!
With that out of the way lets look at how I spent my 10 DENAR.
Army Strength 3 because I wanted a decent strength and Army Defense 3. But I think going forward I am going to focus more on Army Strength then defense. There is always going to be stronger people than me so I just need to focus on claiming my 'unclaimed denar' faster so I don't look like an easy target.
Domain Stats, this is another area I am going to focus on because passive earning will be key to growing. Based on these stats I will make just over 2 DENAR every hour.

Building that strength is what I’m thinking but as the game evolves I think all the stats will be important - I’m concentrating on strength and speed
yeah it is going to be VERY interesting to see how it all plays out with everyone else starting out too and what they focus on
Speed helps with intercept, which gives you a good % (I think around 5-20%) of the attacker's denars. It's a good stat to boost for passive side of things and if the attacker has lofty unclaimed money that's a lucky day!
Correct me if I'm wrong, for starters we get up to 5 unclaimed denars, and it costs 10 to upgrade the vault. If you have high speed, then you might also want to up your unclaimed limits (vault level).
Yes, I think increasing your Vault level is required to make sure if you do benefit from an interception that you can hold the Denar till you claim.

The passive part of Crownrends is good but I wish there were more ways to interact with the game. I'd play with it when trying to relax, but 2 minutes in the game is too short.
One thing that probably keeps me in is knowing I'm earning quite a sum of DENARs over time, and increasing my stats to protect it. But once all the stats are allocated (maybe a good 5 minutes), nothing much to do but keep checking for another hour.
Hopefully they'll add more to it to keep players returning!

I agree 100% though I wish there was more to do. Only being a few hours in I have found out it makes the most economical sense to use up my battles/attacks RIGHT before I claim my DENAR so my winnings just don't sit there waiting to be taken.
I do wish once you were attacked there was some sort of cooldown too but after asking in their Discord that is not the case!
