These past few weeks, Uncle Epic has been generous with us gamers. If you don't believe me, just check out this game.
Every Thursday, I head over to Epic Games to see what gift they have in store for us. Sometimes I find little gems, other times, games that my PC doesn't even want to install, but this week... ugh,
This week, it's one that's truly worthwhile: Monument Valley 2. And be careful, it's not just any indie game forgotten at the bottom of your drawer (DON'T); it's one of those games you enjoy like a sunday morning.
This isn't the AAA formula we've been tired of for years, no shooting or nonsense. No, none of that. Monument Valley 2 is a puzzle game, but not one of those that makes you sweat and think about quantum physics formulas, reminding me of one of the best puzzle games I've played on this blog: FEZ.

It's more of a relaxing walk through settings that look like they're straight out of a surreal painting. Yes, the ones where the stairs go up and down at the same time, and you don't know if you're going crazy or if the architect had a really weird sense of humor.
The point is that you guide a mother and her daughter through these impossible worlds, moving platforms, rotating towers, and basically playing with perspective. Sometimes they walk together, sometimes they separate and each go their own way, and that's where I think the game really shines.
I played the first installment several years ago at the recommendation of a family member, and I can say it was my first experience with this type of relaxing video game that didn't plunge you into frenetic situations but instead let you breathe in fairly calming environments. Relaxing
Obviously, not everything is perfect. Don't expect a title that will last you weeks. If you put your mind to it, you can finish it in a couple of hours. But look, I prefer that to being padded with repetitive stuff just to say it "lasts longer." That doesn't mean we'll spend little time on the puzzles; that's the magic of all these titles.
We may only solve 20 puzzles, but those 20 will be quite difficult and ingenious, given the pace at which we see all that surreal imagery that I think characterizes the game quite well. A tranquil setting for mind-bending puzzles.
Monument Valley 2 is short, yes, but what it gives you in that time stays with you. It's like watching a good indie movie: it doesn't last long, but you'll remember it more than the latest Hollywood blockbuster.
And best of all: it's free on Epic Games this week. I mean, there's no excuse. All you have to do is have an active Epic Games account, go to the game's page, and claim it. I already did it in less than 5 minutes. This promotion runs until the 18th, so you better hurry and grab it.

Estas ultimas semanas tio Epic ha estado generoso con nosotros los jugadores, si no me creen solo miren este juego
cada jueves me meto a Epic Games a ver qué regalito nos tienen preparado. A veces me encuentro con joyitas, otras veces con juegos que ni mi PC quiere instalar, pero esta semana… uff,
esta semana toca uno que sí vale la pena de verdad: Monument Valley 2. Y ojo, que no es cualquier indie olvidado en el fondo del cajón, es de esos que se disfrutan como un café tranquilo un domingo por la mañana.
Aqui no hay nada de esa formula AAA que nos viene cansando por años, ni disparos ni tonterias. No, nada de eso. Monument Valley 2 es un juego de puzzles, pero no de esos que te hacen sudar y pensar en fórmulas de física cuántica recordandome a uno de los mejores puzle games que he jugado en este blog: FEZ

Es más bien un paseo relajante por escenarios que parecen sacados de un cuadro surrealista. Sí, esos donde las escaleras suben y bajan al mismo tiempo y no sabes si te estás volviendo loco o si el arquitecto tenía un sentido del humor muy raro.
La gracia está en que guías a una madre y su hija por estos mundos imposibles, moviendo plataformas, girando torres y básicamente jugando con la perspectiva. A veces caminan juntas, a veces se separan y cada una va por su lado, y ahí es donde el juego creo que reluce bastante
Jugué la primera entrega hace varios años atras a recomendacion de un familiar y se puede decir que fue mi primera experiencia con este tipo de videojuegos relajante que no te metia de lleno en situaciones freneticas sino que te dejaba respirar en ambientes bastante relajantes
Obviamente, no todo es perfecto. No esperes un título que te dure semanas. Si le metes ganas, en un par de horas puedes acabarlo. Pero mira, yo prefiero eso a que lo inflen con cosas repetitivas solo para decir que “dura más”. Eso no quiere decir que nos vayamos a tardar poco con los puzles, he ahi la magia de todos estos titulos
Puede que solo resolvamos 20 puzles pero esos 20 seran bastante dificiles e ingeniosos al ritmo que vemos toda esa imagineria surrealista que creo que caracteriza el juego bastante bien, un entorno tranquilo para unos puzles que te tuercen la cabeza
Monument Valley 2 es cortito, sí, pero lo que te da en ese rato se queda contigo. Es como ver una buena película indie: no dura mucho, pero la recuerdas más que la última superproducción de Hollywood.
Y lo mejor de todo: está gratis en Epic Games esta semana. O sea, no hay excusa. Solo tienes que tener una cuenta Epic activa, ir a la pagina del juego y reclamarlo, yo ya lo hice en menos de 5 minutos, esta promocion está hasta el 18 asi que mejor se apuran y lo agarran
Vi bastantes ofertas que estan haciendo diversas plataformas y la verdad se ven bastante buenas xD siempre me termino informando de las ofertas por tiktok y por youtube, con este post mi animaste a probarlos.
