My kid ran away towards a foggy town 😨

Horror has had a whole bunch of events through time and some were so good that it stuck with people even after decades passed.
One of those titles that I kept seeing and hearing about it everywhere, especially as someone who's into horror and looks into those communities every now and then, has been Silent Hill.

Unfortunately as a young buck I didn't manage to get my hands on this franchise because for those oldies out there, video game distribution used to be a much different story back in the day before you could just download whatever game you wanted at the comfort of your home.

I live in the middle of nowhere and have been here pretty much my whole life. When it came to acquiring games, I typically had a budget of 60 euros per month when the grandparents went to buy groceries. Sometimes I'd get a single game or if given the chance, I'd get 2 because there used to be platinum versions which would reduce the prices in 30 to 50%. Though I enjoyed horror I was more of a fighting games kid myself with titles like Tekken, Soul Calibur, Mortal Kombat and Dragon Ball as preferences.

Though I got into Resident Evil, Soul Reaver, Dino Crisis and Bloodrayne (among others but to remember all of 'em would take me a while), Silent Hill was one of those titles that just passed by me.

Having been dipping into Dead by Daylight a little more regularly in the past 3 months, one of those characters that always caught my eye was Pyramid Head. Upon re-watching the first movie and watching the second one for the first time I got the little bug tickling me to play the games and so the adventure began.

A few weeks ago I dove into Silent Hill with the very first game and I was pleasantly surprised with how much fun it provided to me, even 23 years later! This was also streamed on my streaming channels which you can follow at both VIMM and/or Twitch. I decided to grab a couple of moments from those streams and attempt to make some videos out of it, which leads me to this post.

I want to point out that my editing is very lacking still but I am trying to improve it, at a relatively slow pace because that's the pace I am comfortable with, although I liked the final result which is why it has been publicized. The channel this video is on is a channel I am trying to get things on more regularly so if you are into horror, gaming opinions, etc, a subscribe to it would be insanely appreciated. If you just take a gander at it, if you could click the thumbs up icon dealio, I'd be forever thankful!

As always, thank you for clicking this post of mine and thank you twice if you checked out the video! Let me know if you're a Silent Hill fan and what your favorite thing about the game is. Mine is the aesthetics and the inspiration behind the town of Silent Hill, which is a real place called Centralia!

silent hill was so creepy omg! i loved it! the first release had 2 cds on playstation and it was one of the best horror games ever made for playstation. the later installments are great titles too. but the original man... i wish they would make a remake. it was deeply disturbing and entertaining at the same time !

I never played these old but gold horror games myself. I was mostly into adventure games and platformers myself. Edits are looking good! Maybe the pacing could be a bit quicker to accommodate the quick consumers that most people are turning into if I was to give any criticism.

I played most early Tomb Raiders and even though that was an adventure game, it scared the hell out of me many times.
I vividly remember being in this level, shown below (I am 76% sure) and there was a corridor to go through that had spikes coming from below that I didn't think about. Once the spikes rose, I literally jumped off my chair and I had a friend next to me. Was a great moment of severe laughter.

I appreciate the insight! I have a bit of difficulty determining which clips are worthy because when I watch videos I tend to go from the beginning to the end (unless it's truly a snoozefest), so I don't have the third eye to find those goldfish attention span golden clips. I hope it's something that can be learned though 😅

That screenshots looks eerily familiar. I gotta get around to playing the new Tomb Raider games soon. I have them all in my library and has only touched the first one.

When it comes to editing just go with the flow. Do what feels right and change things up as you go. Looking forward to seeing your future vids!

Yay! 🤗
