Kirby ha estado ya casi 30 años en los mercados siendo una de las franquicias mas conocidas de nintendo pero sinceramente no me había llamado demasiado la atención jugar a una de sus entregas, parecía tener la estructura de los típicos juegos de la compañía como Metroid o Mario, pero creo que este juego ha cambiado un poco mi percepción de lo que es Kirby o al menos de lo que quiere hacer la compañía nipona con el personaje, Kirby Battle Royale es quizá una expresión moderna del persona inspirado en la creciente ola de títulos de este estilo como PUBG o Fortnite pero le estampa el mundo colorido de la bola rosada y agrega algunos elementos que son divertidos para jugar en grupo.

Funciona bastante simple, el reino de Kirby se ve amenazado por el Rey Dedede una vez mas mientras que el y sus amigos entran en un par de pruebas diseñadas por el Rey, una premisa bastante simple para lo que viene, toneladas de pruebas coloridas escapando de fantasmas o recogiendo manzanas que son disfrutadas a pleno en el multijugador online o local, es una serie de pruebas bastante simples y básicas que deberemos jugar contra otros jugadores, me ha resultado muy acelerado y divertido todo aunque echo en menos que haya un poco mas de contenido ya que las pruebas que tenemos muy pronto se tornan aburridas y no hay suficiente variedad en estas para que estemos horas jugando a las mismas pruebas, aun así una partida cada tanto tiempo entre amigos funciona muy bien para divertirse por un rato.

También existe un modo historia pero es mas como un tutorial con una trama para conocer mas a fondo las pruebas que vamos a jugar en el multijugador, aunque también tendremos la posibilidad de agarrar algunos coleccionables para los que se empeñan en completar la mayor cantidad de juegos posible, la IA no es especialmente inteligente en estos juegos así que solo queda como una anécdota para el juego, lo que verdaderamente importa y hace divertido a este juego es cuando lo jugamos con amigos o online, es ahí en donde se pueden ver los mejores puntos a favor de esta experiencia.

Aunque no consiga destacar en el catalogo de 3DS pienso que es un juego que consigue con su diseño y sus tiernos personajes destacar por su faceta jugable, tiene varios modos que nos aseguran bastantes horas pegados en la pantalla y a un personaje de Nintendo iconico de fondo, Kirby quizá se uno de esas sagas que la compañía tiene olvidada en su catalogo actual pero Battle Royale es una buena excusa para seguir de cerca a la bola rosa en sus aventuras.

Although it does not manage to stand out in the 3DS catalog I think it is a game that manages with its design and its cute characters to highlight its playable facet, it has several modes that ensure us enough hours glued to the screen and an iconic Nintendo character in the background, Kirby may be one of those sagas that the company has forgotten in its current catalog but Battle Royale is a good excuse to follow closely the pink ball in his adventures.

Kirby is such a cool character. Random but cool. I only played one of the N64 games dedicated to him. Didn't even know there was a battle royale game. I guess Kirby will just eat everything.
