In Search of Alex.

Today was one of those days when you feel your soul shrink a little. I dove back into Tomb Raider, and this time, things took a darker turn—and I want to share that experience with you.

Hola chicos de #hivegaming , hoy fue uno de esos días en los que uno siente que el alma se le encoge un poco. Volví a adentrarme en Tomb Raider y esta vez, las cosas tomaron un rumbo más oscuro y quiero compartir mi experiencia con ustedes.

It all began after I reunited with the Endurance crew on the beach. They were trying to repair a boat to escape the island—complete madness, and I told them so without hesitation. That cursed island doesn't let anyone leave; the storms devour everything. Himiko shows no mercy.

Todo comenzó tras reencontrarme con los muchachos del Endurance en la playa. Estaban intentando reparar un bote para escapar de la isla, una locura total, y se los dije sin pensarlo dos veces. Esa isla maldita no deja que nadie se marche las tormentas lo devoran todo, Himiko no perdona.

While they were busy with their desperate plan, I climbed up a bit to look for tools that could help, and when I came back, I was met with an unpleasant surprise—Doctor Whitman had shown up. That guy has given me bad vibes from the very beginning, and every time he turns up, something shady happens. I don’t trust him one bit. I’m sure he’s scheming something.

Mientras ellos se afanaban con su plan desesperado, escalé un poco en busca de herramientas que pudieran ayudar, y al regresar, me encontré con una sorpresa desagradable, el doctor Whitman había llegado. Ese tipo no me da buena espina desde el principio, y cada vez que aparece, algo turbio sucede. No me fío ni un pelo de él, estoy segura de que está tramando algo.

But not everything was bad—my good friend Jonah, the big guy with the kind heart, gave me a new bow. Much more powerful, with new upgrades, it felt like he handed me a piece of hope in the middle of the chaos. Ever since this odyssey began, the bow has become my weapon of choice, and this upgraded version is an absolute gem. I plan to push it to its full potential.

Pero no todo fue malo, mi buen amigo Jonah, el grandulón de corazón noble, me regaló un nuevo arco. Mucho más potente, con nuevas mejoras, fue como si me entregara un pedazo de esperanza en medio del caos. Desde que empezó esta odisea, el arco se ha convertido en mi arma de confianza, y esta versión mejorada es una verdadera joya. Pienso llevarlo hasta su máximo potencial.

Then I headed to one of the stranded ships in search of Alex, who had gone on a mission to find a key part. The journey wasn’t easy—I had to cross between cables, pick up a few hidden treasures I found purely by instinct, and face more of those savages that seem to emerge from the shadows. The tension in the air was thick; every step was a challenge.

Luego me dirigí a uno de los barcos varados en busca de Alex, que había salido en misión para encontrar una pieza clave. El camino no fue fácil, tuve que cruzar entre cables, recoger algún que otro tesoro oculto que encontré por pura intuición y enfrentarme a más de esos salvajes que parecen salir de las sombras y la tensión en el aire era espesa, cada paso era un desafío.

When I arrived at the place, it was swarming with enemies—there was no way to sneak past them, so I had no choice but to fight. Among them, one stood out: a hulking brute armed to the teeth. The battle was brutal, one of those that leaves your fingers trembling. I took more than a few hard hits, but in the end, I managed to bring him down. Exhausted, I made my way into the depths of the ship, where I finally found Alex, trapped behind a sealed door.

Al llegar al lugar, todo estaba infestado de enemigos, no había forma de pasar desapercibida, así que no quedó otra que entrar en combate. Entre ellos, uno destacaba una mole de hombre armado hasta los dientes. El combate fue brutal, de esos que te dejan los dedos temblando. Recibí más de una buena paliza, pero al final logré vencerlo. Exhausta, me interné en las entrañas del barco, donde finalmente encontré a Alex, atrapado tras una puerta sellada.

I managed to open the door, but just when it seemed like everything was going to be okay, we were surrounded. In that moment, Alex made the hardest decision—he sacrificed himself so I could escape. He helped me get out with the piece we needed, knowing full well that he wouldn’t make it. I watched him stay behind with a sad smile, as if he already knew that this was his fate. Another one falls, another friend who won’t return. This island is demanding a heavy price for every step we take.

Logré abrirla, pero justo cuando parecía que todo iba a salir bien, fuimos rodeados, en ese momento, Alex tomó la decisión más dura se sacrificó para que yo pudiera escapar. Me ayudó a salir con la pieza que necesitábamos, sabiendo que él no lo lograría. Lo vi quedarse atrás con una sonrisa triste, como si ya supiera que ese era su destino. Otro que cae, otro amigo que no volverá. Esta isla está cobrando un precio muy alto por cada paso que damos.

Today, I don’t want to continue, I need to process all of this and take a breath. See you in the next adventure, guys, and may the wind blow in our favor, because the road ahead is still long and dangerous.

Hoy no quiero seguir, necesito procesar todo esto, tomar un respiro. Nos vemos en la próxima aventura, chicos y que el viento sople a nuestro favor, porque el camino aún es largo y peligroso.
