I have reached level 18 and have explored new areas of this place called Layton Lake District, for now I have not bought any DLC that gives me access to new maps because I still lack content to explore in this district, so far I'm not bored of it. I still have some outstanding quests and personal challenges that I want to complete.
I'm saving money to buy a bow and arrows, since my colleague pravesh0 explained me the advantage of having one, basically it's to be able to kill animals without making noise and thus not scare the ones nearby. Of course it can be a bit complicated to use it at first but it's worth it once you learn it.
Another thing that my good friend @pravesh0 explained to me is the advantage of having a furry companion with us, the dog accompanies us faithfully wherever we go, it will be alert to dangerous animals and will warn us, it will track the wounded animal to reduce the probability of losing track of them, it's great, plus we will no longer feel so alone in this vast place.
Without hesitation, last night I went to the store and bought the DLC that allows me to have my faithful companion, I put the colors of a dog I had in real life, I named him Rasputin, so now he will be with me in good times and bad.

Today's mission will be to spot two different coyotes on Mount Leviathan, however I will be active with anything that comes my way, let's see how we do. Departure time 2:00am, as I was walking towards the mountain I could see a herd of Roosvelt's Wapiti resting in the distance, a great hunting opportunity that I didn't let pass me by. I took aim with my rifle and hit one of them, I could see the blood on the ground and for the first time I gave the order to Rasputin to track the animal, which he did immediately and very effectively, it was not far from where it was shot. It turned out to be a 279kg female, the shot entered a lung.

After this, I stayed in a nearby place where bears usually go to eat, it was already 4:00 am, I was waiting for a long time hidden in a thicket. When I saw the first rays of sunlight I understood that the bears would not come, so I continued on my way. In the distance I heard the mating call of a coyote, just what I was looking for, so I approached the place, hid next to Rasputin and used the lure that imitates the sound of a hare in distress to attract the coyote. After several attempts and several minutes, I could hear the coyote's footsteps very close, in fact I could see him behind some bushes but not clearly, although he could not see me for some reason he was very restless, and suddenly he got scared and left very fast. I think he could see Rasputin, although he was lying on the ground, he still moved and raised his head, I think that was what scared the coyote, although I am not sure.
Determined to finish my hunting day I was heading to my shelter when in the distance I could see several black-tailed deer, some of them saw me and ran away, but I quickly armed my rifle and shot one that was trotting a little slower than the others, when I got closer I could see the blood and I gave the order to Rasputin to track it, a few meters away was the carcass. A 77 kg male which generated me a bronze trophy.

A few minutes later I heard some very loud footsteps and a warning sound very close, a Roosevelt Wapiti, and shortly I could see him pass in front of me a few meters away running away, I shot trying to hit him in the stomach but when he moved I thought I had hit him in the leg. When I saw the blood trail I noticed that I did not hit any vital organ, I gave the order to Rasputin to follow the trail and he was at it for a long time until we finally found him, dead. A 900 kg buck, very big, with beautiful antlers. I was able to get a silver trophy.

Of course, I was dedicated to praise and reward my big furry friend Rasputin, he did an excellent job, it remains for me to understand him a little better to prevent the animals from scaring me. See you in a next chapter of this hunting adventure in this fabulous game.

Congrats on getting yourself a companion...Rasputin is a nice name. You got some good catch today. Look at that big Roosevelt deer with massive antlers. If you had hit the vital organ it would be a gold trophy.
You dog will be slow at tracking but as he levels up he will be much faster at tracking.
I will ping you today on discord. Let's hunt together!

(no space) to get help on Hive. InfoGreat hunting buddy! I'm just wondering if there are disadvantages as well as advantages to having this dog. I mean, after all, they can smell the dog or they can be scared away by the sound the hunts dog makes, right?
I also have this doubt, I think it somehow scares the animals away, but I'm not sure. I will ask my colleague @pravesh0.
Thanks for the tip on my last post friend incublus, I really appreciate it, I send you a hug.
As far as I remember, the dog's sound doesn't interfere at all. However, the UTV sound, animals can hear it from far away and run away.
