Oh look, it's more Outriders!
I've been progressing the story quite a bit and it's really starting to pick up. In the first part of the game I wasn't really invested and didn't really care where the story went. I wasn't excited to progress the story in any way. That has changed. There's some really interesting things starting to happen. I'm now quite invested and I'm really excited to keep on progressing. I need to know what happens next.
One thing I've done is I stopped doing side quests. They aren't really that interesting and they're not relevant to the overall story either. They rather expand on some of the lore of each area. There is some sweet loot to be gained from doing them but loot is already in abundance.
Speaking of loot I got dropped my first legendary gun today. That was quite sweet. It's got some sweet stats and some cool mods. Enemies I kill drop an orb behind that explodes to really hurt nearby enemies. Most of them get one hit killed by the ability. In addition, enemies close to the killed enemy are inflicted by ash, which basically is a stun freeze. It also has a clip size of 80 so it can shoot for days before reloading. Its not all that accurate at range but my build is quite tanky so I can get up in there and wreck some face without a problem.
Accidentally discovering photo mode
One thing that disappointed me with the game, although I didn't expected the feature to be there, was that the game didn't have a photo mode. There's some sweet visuals in this game and the graphics are pretty high-end. But, since the game is played online I wasn't expecting anything seeing as photo modes require pausing the game. As we all know online games can't be paused.
As I was trying to activate nVidia Freestyle to put a filter on my game to enhance the visual experience I was lucky to press the wrong button. Instead of pressing ALT+F3 I pressed ALT+F2 and what did that do? It paused the game (!?!?!) and activated nVidia Ansel instead which is nVidias own photo mode. I was mind blown.
Just as I was expecting to blast through the story at post haste by skipping side quests it's not gonna take even longer because I'm gonna be taking photos all the time. Ansel has some pretty great filters and options to make the game look even prettier in screenshots.
That means it's time for a showcase. My previous posts has been focused on the mechanics and gameplay but todays post will be focused wholly on the visuals. At least from this point on. Enjoy!

Doesn't this game just look damn good? I'm so glad I discovered nVidia Ansel. With the right filters and settings this game really can be made to look stunning. It already does without the filters but the UI is quite big and ruins any image you try to take.
Now I'm guessing this only works if I'm playing solo. I'm guessing that it wasn't intended seeing as nVidia Freestyle in disabled. You can use Ansel to fly through buildings and the ground to have a look outside the map. It does however give you the ability to see the game from an angle you were never meant to and that's great. Some of the visuals become even better from up top or close to the ground.
I'm about to jump back in for a couple of hours to get 2% of progress and 50 new screenshots. See you on Enoch, Outriders!

The game looks fucking amazing, god. I love the airs it has, it reminds me too much of Destiny, I feel like even the characters assimilate quite a bit. I have a nice wallpaper thanks to you, now I owe you 9 Hive. Don't you plan to make a walkthrough of this game? Whenever I can't play a game that looks cool, I always swallow a whole walkthrough of it to see the story.
It does. I really like how each area is different as I go through them. They offer so much visually. There is a Destiny vibe here for sure. Damn, now I wanna play Destiny just to run around and look at the visuals.
I don't really enjoy making walkthroughs of the story points. I'd rather talk about my own experiences and feelings. I'm looking to make a post on how the crafting system works later though.
And I hope you understood that the 10HIVE was a joke. The wallpaper looks awesome. :P

ENGAGEtokens.I wish that the console version has photo mode. You got some dope screenshots. This game is a ton of fun. Hopefully crossplay gets fixed soon so we can group up.
The different photos make clear the graphic capacity of the game and the artistic capacity of those who designed it, it is super cool

I haven't read anything you wrote, but, let me tell you that the pictures look fucking amazing, it looks like a typical game from which you could get a good wallpaper for your computer. I'm in an exam right now, so, when I'm done I'll read the post better.

Cheers! I love good visuals so taking photos like this is real fun. Everything I see something cool I snap into photo mode to fy around for a bit for a good angle. Its really extending the play time of the game.
