Hello again my friends
Welcome back. Today I wanted to share my experiences with you guys on my recently purchased DualSense Edge, 30th anniversary edition. I've always wanted to get a pro controller for my PS5, but for some reason never really gotten around to it. It's kind of like dipping your toes into a very cool pool. But I've finally taken the full plunge, and this controller is absolutely amazing! I'm glad that I waited to get a pro controller because the 30th anniversary edition came out. So I said, "what the heck, might as well go all out".

✨Shiny ✨
This is how the package looks. It's quite nostalgic but has a modern feel to it. This is actually how the original advertisement for the Playstation 1 console looked. In terms of how the package is presented, I'm glad that they were able to retain the look and feel from the mid 90's. As you can see in the top photo, it says limited addition, meaning that they aren’t going to be producing these controllers anymore. I had to scramble like an egg to get one of these through the website. They made me wait in queue for about 30 minutes before they actually let me into the online store.
When you open the box, you're presented with a case that is very tough, like a turtle shell. It definitely has a premium feel to it. It also makes you feel sure that if you were to drop this case on accident, it will protect the contents inside. But...I won't be accidentally dropping this case anytime soon haha. 😅 The photo on the right shows a secret flap where you can charge the controller without having to open the case fully. Lastly, on the back of the case it shows the number 30 with the iconic shape buttons.

Holy Hot damn!!!
Finally, the moment you've been waiting for, the Playstation Dualense Edge! It comes with several analog sticks that have hight adjustments; dome and concave. 2 sets of back buttons that are big and small. A housing connecter so that you don't yank the controller by mistake. And a very long braided cord, which is my favorite because it extends across my room. 😊
The controller feels sooo good to hold. It's a little heavier than the regular base DualSense controller but not to the point where you're hands feel strained. The triggers have shape textures on them so that your fingers don't slip off. There's texture on the controller itself as well. If you take a closer look, it also shows the number 30 with the playstation buttons. Interestingly, the controller feels like rubber, but its actually plastic. It's well built though, in my opinion. It just has more depth to it, in terms of the overall design, like the bevels on the sides and back.

Now here's where we really go in depth. The two top buttons you see allows you to adjust the trigger tension. Think of it as less travel when you're pushing the buttons. Games like Call of duty and Apex Legends are probably the best use for this function. Personally, I play Fortnite most days, but maybe I should explore this feature for that game later in the near future. The two paddles you see are the back buttons. You can assign this buttons to any button on the front of the controller. This was the main feature that I was looking at because having an extra button like crouching or reloading is pivotal to moment to moment gameplay. The release button allows you to take apart the controller, such as switching out a plate or replacing an analog stick that has stick drift. And finally, the two front buttons under the analog sticks. I mainly use them for switching to another preset for different games. I believe this feature allows you to have up to 6 presets. It's a nice add-on that streamlines the overall experience.
GaM3r_Omega, Battle Start!
This controller right here, is an absolute beast. It allows me to do certain movements that I couldn’t do with a normal controller. The big thing for me was jumping without having to take my thumb off of the right analog stick for aiming. Jumping and aiming whiling simultaneously shooting is a huge game changer for me. I can finally compete with mouse and keyboard players, which levels the playing field. 😎
Oooh That's A Cute Bunny!
This is my current set up. The analog sticks that comes with the controller is fine and all. But the Kontrol freaks are my go to modifications for a controller. I've used Kontrol freaks since the Playstation 3 days and ever since then I can't play with out them. Not only that they come with cool colors and creative intricate designs. They have a wide verity of different hight adjustments depending on your play style. If you like having high sensitivity and 360 no scoping scrubs, go with the higher adjustments. If you like to have less travel time while moving the analog sticks, go with the lower adjustments. For me, I like to mix and match them. I go with the higher stick on the right to control the In game camera with precision. And on the left, a lower stick to have quick movements while controlling my character.

Here's an insane comparison! It's almost like, the little one should be the younger brother (lol). 🥺 When I took the original playstation controller out for this post. A wave of emotions flooded my whole body. I noticed that my hands were too big to even hold the controller properly. Then I remember being a kid again, with my small little hands playing Crash Bandicoot 2 Cortex Strikes Back, Tekken 3, Mega Man X5, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Toney Hawk Pro Skater 2, and The King Of Fighters 99. But Honestly, there were way more games I've played back in the day. Just seeing these two controllers like this together really tells you a story. Going from the 5th generation to the 9th generation within the span of 30 years, is quite something to really think deeply about. All of those gaming moments I've had over the years and going over to my friends house having a gaming session all night, were truly magical times growing up. So, here's to many more games to experience and more beautiful memories to create. 🍻

I just now remembered. They came out with a playstation mini back in 2018. I should of bought one at the time, but they sold out like hot cakes. I don't even know if the mini's are still in production. Now, I know that there's emulation programs out there that far exceeds this device. But nothing beats a physical consoles. If they come out with a PlayStation 2 Mini, I'll be definitely picking that up!
Fat Jon - Ample Souldier
Been listening to Fat Jon since Samurai Champloo came out, which he had a hand in making the soundtrack for the anime. When it comes to his music production, he crafts a beautiful sound that's calming.
And now once again, we are at the end of the post! More exciting content is still on the way. The secret project that i've been working on is taking a little longer than then I expected. But I believe it should be ready to go by next Friday and if not, that's okay. It just means that it still needs time to cook. 😌 So, Stay tuned.
And as always, have a good one guys,
until next time, peace, love, and positivity. I'm out.

PhotoShop
Blender
Davinci Resolve
Love the design of this one. I still only have the basic white and won't buy anything new until it stops working. This is tempting though alongside the Cosmid Red.
The classic colors is just so good. My white one started getting stick drift last year. It's another reason why I got the pro controller, so if it happens again I can just swap them out.
I was unaware there even was an upgraded controller as an option. The standard one is pretty great on its own and I have been really happy with it. Astro Bot really showcased what the controller is all about and I likely wouldn't have even known about a lot of the features if it wasn't for that game. How much was the controller?
The anniversary edition was pretty expensive, about $230. But I think it's well worth it, especially if you're a hardcore competitive gamer. Astrobot was such an amazing game. I think that was the only game that really did a fine job utilizing the DualSense functionality. Thank you for commenting.
that's a lot for a controller so I will just admire yours from afar :) That's really pricy for a controller! My buddy was talking about getting the new VR for PS5 but then I looked at the price and saw it costs more than the console.. eff that!
I knew Xbox always had custom controllers or special editions, I don't remember seeing one from Sony yet. Looks so premium and eye catchy, also the case is a nice addon. Checked locally and the price is huge, half (in some stores even more) of a PS5's price.
Yeah, they are pretty expensive. But I do think that they are worth it if you're gaming pretty heavily and needing that extra edge, no pun intended lol. And sorry for the late reply. I am working diligently on my secret project. Thank you for stopping by and reading my post ☺️
I loved the design of that controller reminds me a lot of my PS1 what memories as the years go by it seems like it was yesterday.
That's because it is based off of the PlayStation 1 design. 🙂
I loved the truth I had not seen it, that brings back memories to see that design.
That thing is absolutely gorgeous man. I love the retro look and the modern capabilities. My brother has the regular Edge and loves it. I’ve never had a pro controller of my own in my life. I just can’t justify all that money to replace something I have that already works well. Maybe it has capped my skill level lower than it could be, but oh well. I used my bro’s Edge several times and the buttons on the back drive me nuts. The way I’m used to holding the controller for years causes me to accidentally hit those buttons all the time. I’m sure I could get used to it if I was using it full time, but those few times I used it I just wished I had my regular DualSense. I’m a simple man in that way. Happy for you to finally have this though, it’s undeniably premium and has loads of cool features. Those Kontrol Freaks are something else I’ve never bothered to use but am sure they’d make me better at shooters.
Yooo, it took me quite some time to get use to them. It was not easy. lmao 😂
I also didn’t have them configured to what I’d want them to be used for. I was running with my bro’s setup and it was making do random stuff like jump when I didn’t wanna. But creating profiles for specific games would fix that and then long term use would allow my brain to re-learn how to hold the controller.
Dude! I’m finally on here! Love your post, that controller is dope! Hive is amazing =)
Finally man, what took you so long??? Of course hive is an amazing place. 😎 and yeah, this controller is hella cool.
