RE: Metroid Dread: Kind of returning to my roots

It's also one of the games on my list to possibly play one day but likely I also won't complete it. Most games I have fun with for some time but at some point it either becomes a bit too difficult or I want to move on. Only really shorter games like Journey I fully get to enjoy. Others like Celeste / Baba Is You / Elden Ring / ... I never even get close to finishing and It's hard to pick them up again after taking a multiple-week break.

Time just also remains the major bottleneck. Enjoy Season 9 of Diablo 4

I think you and I are similar gamers. When I talk to people that just love love love RDR2 or Witcher3 I appreciate their enthusiasm but then when I try to play those games I quickly see that being good at these games required a level of attention that I simply do not have time to dedicate towards them. This is probably why I get so much more frustrated with story-driven games than I probably should. I just don't have the time to dedicate to getting good at the controls and then remembering them for the next time I play.

I think this is part of the reason why I gravitated towards D4 so much. You got a few buttons and you attack the crap out of hundreds of enemies at once. It's not easy per se, but if you don't play for a couple days or week, you are only about 10 minutes spent in an easy area away from refreshing all that knowledge.
