The last time I played Smash Bros was many years ago on the Nintendo Gamecube, although I'm not a fan of the saga, at that time I had few games so I tried to get the most out of them all, I burned dozens of hours in the Smash Bros Melee, passing the story over and over again with different characters and completing some other challenge to pass the time. Recently I decided to try the latest installment of this saga, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and see how it was.
Let's start with the story mode. Here we will see how most of our fighters are captured and cloned by the forces of evil. The only survivor of this will be Kirby, who will manage to escape thanks to his flying star and will be in charge of rescuing each of his companions.
In the story mode we will move through a fairly large map full of bright spots that represent combats, each combat will allow us to advance a section and eventually we will be facing the evil clones. Each defeated evil clone will be a character that we will have rescued and will join us.
In total we will have 86 playable characters (DLC included) and, I must say that I really liked how they made them mechanically, because although I haven't played with all of them, the ones I did try have combos and skills very characteristic of their corresponding saga, for example; Bayonetta has her quick punch set that has been present in all her games, Samus has her classic move of turning into a ball and Ryu literally has all her Street Fighter moves, it is very fun to control each character, especially if you know or have played the games they belong to.
As for combat, if you have played any Smash you will be very familiar; There will be several characters on a map and each will have a percentage that will increase depending on the damage received, the higher the percentage the more likely that the character will fly off the stage. Our goal will be to get our opponents out of the stage, either by beating them until they fly away or by throwing them out ourselves.
Each character will have an ultimate ability. To use this ability there will be two options: Recharge it throughout the confrontation by landing blows and surviving, or wait for an item called "Smash Ball" to appear. If we destroy this ball, the ability will be completely recharged and we will have a time limit to use it. Normally this ability will give us a great advantage over our opponent if we hit him, either causing a lot of damage or empowering us in some way.
There will also be a mechanic called combat spirits, these spirits will be characters that we can equip (as runes) and that will give us some advantage such as increasing damage with charged attacks, special abilities, running attacks, increasing our defense, etc. Normally before a combat we can decide in the rules whether or not to allow the use of these spirits.
We will have several modes of play moderately varied among them, my favorite was the Smash troop mode, where we will form a group of 5 or 3 fighters and we will face another team in 1 VS 1 fights with relay, ie; If our first fighter dies, the second will enter, then the third and so on.
There will also be other modes such as normal combat, where we can fight up to 8 players in one game, tournament mode where we will fight against different groups and a special mode where we will use special rules such as making the fighters giant, metallic, in slow motion and several other things that will make the confrontations crazier.
In conclusion, it can be a very chaotic game and very fun at the same time, like all Smash games. Personally I don't like so much when there are fights with many characters on screen because I don't know what's going on hahaha, that's why I've never been a big fan of the saga, but it's still quite enjoyable because of the things I mentioned. It should be noted that as always in these games if you have a friend or group of friends to play with, the experience will be much better, but if not, it can still be fun to try it alone and play a few games, it has so many varied characters that it is likely that at least one is from your favorite saga.

La última vez que jugué a Smash Bros fue hace muchos años en la Nintendo Gamecube, a pesar de que no soy fanático de la saga, en ese entonces tenía pocos juegos por lo que intentaba sacarles el máximo partido a todos, quemé decenas de horas en el Smash Bros Melee, pasándome la historia una y otra vez con distintos personajes y completando alguno que otro desafío para pasar el rato. Hace poco me animé a probar la última entrega de esta saga, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, y ver que tal estaba.
Comencemos con el modo historia. Aquí veremos como la mayor parte de nuestros peleadores son capturados y clonados por las fuerzas del mal. El único sobreviviente de esto será Kirby, que logrará escapar gracias a su estrella voladora y será el encargado de rescatar a cada uno de sus compañeros.
En el modo historia nos moveremos por un mapa bastante amplio repleto de puntos brillantes que representaran combates, cada combate nos permitirá avanzar un tramo y eventualmente nos iremos enfrentando a los clones malignos. Cada clon maligno derrotado será un personaje que habremos rescatado y se unirá a nosotros.
En total tendremos 86 personajes jugables (DLC incluidos) y, debo decir que me gustó mucho el cómo los hicieron mecánicamente, porque aunque no he jugado con todos, los que sí probé tienen combos y habilidades muy características de su saga correspondiente, por ejemplo; Bayonetta tiene su set de puñetazos rápidos que ha estado presente en todos sus juegos, Samus tiene su clásico movimiento de convertirse en bola y Ryu literalmente tiene todos sus movimientos de Street Fighter, es muy divertido controlar a cada personaje, sobre todo si conoces o has jugado los juegos a los que pertenecen.
En cuanto al combate, si has jugado algún Smash se te hará muy familiar; Habrá varios personajes en un mapa y cada uno tendrá un porcentaje que irá aumentando en función al daño recibido, mientras más alto sea ese porcentaje más probabilidades hay de que el personaje salga volando del escenario. Nuestro objetivo será sacar del escenario a nuestros rivales, ya sea apaleándolos a golpes hasta que salgan volando o tirándolos fuera nosotros mismos.
Cada personaje tendrá una habilidad definitiva. Para usar esta habilidad habrá dos opciones: Recargarla a lo largo del enfrentamiento asestando golpes y sobreviviendo, o esperar a que aparezca un ítem llamado “Bola Smash”. Si destruimos está bola se nos recargará por completo dicha habilidad y tendremos un tiempo límite para usarla. Normalmente esta habilidad nos dará una gran ventaja sobre nuestro oponente si la acertamos, ya sea causándole mucho daño o potenciándonos de algún modo.
También habrá una mecánica llamada espíritus de combate, estos espíritus serán personajes que podremos equiparnos (como runas) y que nos darán alguna ventaja como aumentar el daño con ataques cargados, habilidades especiales, ataques en carrera, subirnos la defensa, etc. Normalmente antes de un combate podremos decidir en las reglas si permitimos o no el uso de estos espíritus.
Tendremos varios modos de juego medianamente variados entre ellos, mi favorito fue el modo tropa Smash, donde formaremos un grupo de 5 o 3 peleadores y nos enfrentaremos a otro equipo en combates 1 VS 1 con relevo, es decir; Si muere nuestro primer luchador, entrará el segundo, luego el tercero y así sucesivamente.
También habrá otros modos como el combate normal, donde podremos luchar hasta 8 jugadores en una partida, el modo torneo donde combatiremos contra distintos grupos y un modo especial donde usaremos reglas especiales como poner a los luchadores gigantes, metalizados, en cámara lenta y varias cosas más que harán más locos los enfrentamientos.
En conclusión, puede ser un juego muy caótico y muy divertido a la vez, como todos los Smash. Personalmente no me gusta tanto cuando son combates con muchos personajes en pantalla porque no sé qué está pasando jajaja, por eso es que nunca he sido muy fanático de la saga, pero aun así es bastante disfrutable por las cosas que mencioné. Cabe destacar que como siempre en estos juegos si tienes a un amigo o grupo de amigos con quien jugar, la experiencia será mucho mejor, pero en caso de que no, igual puede ser divertido probarlo en solitario y jugarse unas partidas, tiene tantos personajes variados que es probable al menos uno sea de tu saga favorita.
Amo SUPER SMASH BROS, sin duda para mi ha sido una de las mejores sagas de peleas brawl de la historia. No eh jugado este ultimo que supongo es el de switch, pero llegue hasta el de wii U y 3DS que lo tengo original! aquí te lo comparto!

Que belleza, me encanta ver juegos originales de consolas del pasado. Es una saga que ha logrado mantenerse, a mí me dio muy buenas horas de diversión en la Gamecube y probando este fue igual de divertido e incluso más.
Aunque había estado algo desconectado de ella, opino igual que tú, de momento es la mejor saga del género y dudo mucho logren superarla algún día.

He visto varios gameplays de este juego y me agradan bastante! Se ve que es un juego bastante competitivo, las animaciones de los combates son geniales y cada mecánica tiene cosas interesantes, ojalá pueda jugarlo algún día porque me interesa mucho este tipo de juegos.

He oído de esta saga, nunca la he jugado. Pero es un lujo poder usar a tantos personajes como: Bayoneta y el siempre querido Mega Man. Luce bastante loco y divertido en verdad.
No toqué la historia cuando pasé por Ultimate, pero definitivamente es para mi el mejor Smash hasta la fecha, y aunque me encanta la franquicia, comparto completamente lo que dices sobre demasiados personajes en pantalla a la vez, por eso es que yo acostumbro jugar 1vs1, es lo más competitivo y puedes concentrarte en el enemigo, como cualquier otro juego de peleas, pero en general, como dijo su creador, Ultimate es una celebración hacia los videojuegos, un recopilatorio de incontables franquicias que se mezclan y conviven en un mismo juego, y eso es espectacular.
Justo por eso es que mi modo favorito fue el modo tropa, porque eran 1 vs 1 en todo momento. Intenté un par de veces un combate con los 8 personajes y no fue una buena experiencia jajaja, incluso con más de 4 en pantalla ya me parece demasiado xd.

No he tocado el modo historia porque las veces que he jugado esto ha sido por invitación a partidas en otras casas...pero las veces que he jugado esto fueron bastante geniales, tanto en partidas de 4 jugadores, las demencias que son 8 jugadores al mismo tiempo, y hasta dos veces que estuve en minitorneos organizados de Ultimate (en los cuales desafortunadamente terminé eliminado en las primeras partidas asdasdsasd)
Igual no te pierdes de mucho jaja, está bastante bien la historia pero el chiste de esto es irse al VS y comenzar a probar personajes jsjs. A mi de 4 en adelante ya me parece demasiado, aunque si es con amigos si lo disfrutaría seguramente.

It's exclusive to Switch but with an emulator it can be played on PC, although it can be a bit messy to set up haha.
I see. A remastered for windows couldn't be great.
