A Surprise Visit and a 7-Eleven Date

Good day, everyone! It's been a while since I posted a blog. It's actually because of my busy schedule since our pre-defence is approaching. Today I'm going to share with you how grateful I am to have a boyfriend who does anything just to make me happy. My boyfriend is not rich, but he always spends his last money on me. So today I was quite stressed because of our thesis and because, as I said, our pre-defence is approaching quickly. Luckily my boyfriend's schedule for 10 a.m.–1 p.m. was open because their professor decided not to meet, so he decided to surprise me with an unexpected visit to cheer me up. I was so immersed in doing my thesis that time, and then my mother started to call for my name, saying that I have a parcel and saying that I should go get it. So I went outside, and I saw him standing near our gate, smiling from ear to ear.

As I opened the gate and we went inside my house, I could hear my mother giggling. I was actually so shocked because I didn't expect him, and I thought that he had a class at that time. I was really happy to see him though, because I was doing our thesis all morning and badly needed to take a break. So we sat in our living room, and I asked him what he was doing here and how about his class. He just answered that his professor cancelled their class, and he thought that he should visit me since I told him how stressed I am about my thesis. When he said that, I actually felt happy and grateful to have him as my boyfriend.

We talked for a little while, and then he asked me if I wanted to go to 7-11 to eat some snacks since he couldn't get any while he was on the way to my house. And I answered a big yes since who would say no to a date, right? He immediately asked my mom if it was alright with her that we went out for a while, and my mom said yes. Since the location of my house and 7/11 is not that far, we were able to get there in less than 5 minutes.

When we arrived, we scanned everything first and talked about what we wanted to eat first. And I saw something that I haven't tasted yet, so we picked that one just to taste it to see if it's good or not, and we also took a couple of foods, like the steamed siopao, the foot-long hot dog, the rice meal, which is the jumbo giniling, and also some drinks. After that, we went to the cashier to pay for the foods, and we decided to eat there since the 7/11 has a little corner where you could hang out and eat your foods.

Then we went to find our seats, and luckily we found an empty seat. So we sat there, and the first food that we tasted was the onigiri. For those who don't know, an onigiri is a rice ball made with sticky rice and usually filled with tuna and picked plums. And usually shaped in a triangle with a seaweed as cover. When we tried to open it, we didn't know how, so we were laughing, and after that, we managed to open it. But before we took a bite, we decided to rate everything that we brought just for fun. So as we tasted the onigiri, I rated it 2/5 because the seaweed is not crispy anymore, but I liked the taste of it, and my boyfriend rated it 1/5 because the seaweed is not crispy, and also because he didn't like the taste of the salted shrimp.

The next one that we tried is the rice meal, which is jumbo pork giniling with rice. I would rate it 3/5. It's not bad, but it's not good either, though it could satisfy your hunger and it's good for students. My boyfriend rated it 4/5 because he likes the taste. ( I forgot to take a picture )

The next one is the foot-long hot dog. The one that we picked is the pork hot dog. For me, it's 4/5. I liked the hot dog and its sauce in it, and also my boyfriend rated it the same.

The next one is the siopao, and the flavour is Asado. For me, it's 4/5 because the filling was small, but the taste is good, especially with its sauce. My boyfriend rated it 5/5 since it was his favourite. After we finished it all, we decided to buy some dessert, and obviously the dessert is ice cream, because he said ice cream is good for me since I'm stressed and it's my favourite.

The flavours that we picked are ube and dark chocolate. My boyfriend picked the ube flavour because it's the new flavour, and he rated it 5/5. But for me, I rated it 4/5. It's good, but I don't like the white part. The next flavour is chocolate, and for me it's 5/5 because I like chocolate but not too much, but my boyfriend rated it 3/5; he didn't like it. It's not like he hated it; it's just that he didn't like it.

We talked about many things, like the future, and also caught up about the recent happenings of our lives and ranting about certain subjects. After some time, it was already 6 pm when we decided to go home since he still needs to travel far to go home because he lives in Damog, Sogod, Cebu.

We went home, and since my house is near the national road, I made sure that he could catch the bus before I went inside the house. Today was a much-needed escape from the daily grind. Filled with laughter, heartfelt conversations, and delicious food, it was the perfect way to recharge. I'm incredibly grateful to my boyfriend for going out of his way to make me feel special. His thoughtfulness and effort truly made this day unforgettable. Feeling loved and appreciated is the best feeling in the world. Thank you for taking your time to read this!
