It’s been a long time since I’ve written a blog because I’ve been extremely busy with my life, leaving me with no time to think or write. Finally, tonight at 1:30 AM, my heart prompted me to share something interesting with you all. Today was Sunday, and I spent most of the day relaxing. I just got back from the community place, feeling mentally refreshed, so I decided it’s the perfect time to write this blog.
This blog is about a special treat/party hosted by my boss. Yes, I’ve mentioned it in a previous blog. Let me give you a quick recap: a few months ago, my boss and I were discussing the best burgers in Karachi. He claimed that “No Lies Fries” serves the best burgers in town. When I looked at their menu, I jokingly said that only he could afford to take us there since it’s so expensive. That day, we had planned to visit, but my boss changed his mind at the last minute, and we ended up having biryani instead.
Finally, the much-awaited moment arrived on October 11. My boss confirmed the plan in the morning. Coincidentally, most of the staff had their own lunch plans, so it was just me, two colleagues, and our boss. After Friday prayers, we headed to No Lies Fries in his car.
Interestingly, one of my colleagues was on a diet and brought her planned meal with her, meaning she was out of the league to try the "best burger in Karachi."
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much, but as soon as we stepped through the door, the aroma instantly gave away how amazing the burgers were going to be. It wasn’t a typical burger-shop smell, it reminded me of the high-end burger joints I’ve experienced in the UK and Sweden.
The seating area was small and simple but had an upscale vibe. The menu was straightforward and limited, which I think is the hallmark of quality, keeping things simple and unique.
First, our boss ordered his favorite fries. They were incredibly delicious, crispy, loaded with cheese, and served hot. The taste was unique and nothing like I’d had before.
Meanwhile, our dieting colleague opened her meal, which consisted of vegetables and some bread with spiced vegetables. Honestly, I couldn’t wrap my head around her diet food!
From the menu, I ordered the “Too Good Two,” which included:
“Double smashed beef patties, cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce, and secret sauce served in a potato bun.”
My boss had praised the potato bun a lot, and hearing all this had already set high expectations in my mind.
When the burgers were served, all of my boss’s claims turned out to be true. The potato bun was indeed fresh and flavorful, adding a unique touch to the burger. I’ve tried burgers from many places, but I have to admit, this was the best burger I’ve ever had in Karachi.
The beef patties were cooked to perfection, not overcooked, not undercooked, just right. Maybe my boss’s words had already set me up for a great experience, but honestly, the taste was remarkable. I immediately decided to bring my elder brother here when he visits from Sweden. He’s a true foodie and the best judge for such things. Until then, this remains the best burger in Karachi for me.
Even my other colleague, who wasn’t dieting, loved the burger. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. As I write this, my mouth is watering just thinking about it!
With this treat, my boss kept his promise, and we finally experienced No Lies Fries. Surprisingly, not many people seem to know about this place. It doesn’t have a huge fan following, probably due to its menu or lack of marketing and promotion. But I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who can afford it. You won’t regret it.
