Gardening on February 10

A week in which I have resumed gardening activities, and I have received pleasant surprises, because the trampled plants have given answers, that is pleasing to me.

To begin with I tell you that I have already begun to gather vegetable shells to add to the compost and today I added the first ones, in the plates they looked like a lot, but when I added them you could see how little they were, but those of us who have already worked with compost know that it is a work of patience, because it takes a while to see the fruits, likewise as I had already told you I added some dry leaves which have fallen from the trees and I have been watering them to accelerate their decomposition process.

On the other hand, the trampled coleus cuttings that I planted have survived, I am happy, I just need to let them grow a little more to plant them in the gardens, I want to make an experiment and plant several colors in the same place to see how they all look together, I have seen ideas and the truth is that they look very nice.

On the other hand, I gave my vine some TLC. I took its longest branch, cut cuttings and planted it right there in its pot and I hope that they all take root and see it more populated, let's see if I finally bring it home. I also placed a tall stick in its center so that it could have a place to climb.

Also, I planted a new Calathea cutting to put on my desk, because the one I had there has grown a lot and I trip it with the lid of my laptop and I don't like that, so I took a new cutting and planted it in a pot that I had stored there and the one that is more populated I put it in another place.

I also removed two bulbs of purple lilies that were not thriving at all in the place where they were, because they do not receive enough light and I think it is too humid, for the moment I took them to temporary pots to strengthen them and then plant them in the planters where plants that support the soil are needed.

It has come to my attention that there are plants in the gardens that used to look very good and now they always look sad and even in the process of decomposition. I think that some kind of fertilizer is needed for the soil they are in, I don't know what is going on there.

Finally, I planted a new aloe (aloe vera) in a field where there are not many plants, little by little I hope to transplant some that were in areas too humid for them.

I have to attend to other plants at home, but that will be for next week. For example, it catches my attention how the leaves of a mother-in-law's tongue have come up as if they were pressed down, so I'm going to stir the soil a bit.

The many or few gardening activities I do simply fill me with satisfaction. It is pleasing to see the results, whether expected or not. It is an activity that connects us with nature and reminds us of the vitality of life.

I know what you mean about compost. There is never enough to make it and never enough when it's finally ready, despite how much you've added to it. 😆

You're making me envious, I wish I had more time for my own garden. Even if I lived in it I don't think I'd ever have it sorted.

It's a thing, it takes so long to do the work and in a moment it's over. It feels good to use the result, but it's work.
