Walking Around Large Garden and Harvesting Oranges

in HiveGarden9 months ago

Walking in the garden is refreshing for body and mind. Plus we can harvest fruit. Well worth the fun!

What do you do in the evening before sunset? Walking in the garden is my favorite. The happiness bonus is being able to harvest fruits or vegetables from these activities.

As I grow older, I realize that the opportunity to be able to walk around in the morning or in the evening is a blessed thing. Not all adults are lucky to be able to do that. There are those who are busy working until they are tired and go home to rest immediately.

I am grateful that God still gave me the opportunity to be able to walk around. Also, being with my husband though not every day.

Go To The Large Garden

Walking around the garden this time was quite far from my house. We have to drive about 30 minutes from my house.

My husband took me to his uncle's house. Well, we have often been to the uncle's house to harvest fruit or vegetables there.

For this season, my husband's uncle planted his large garden with oranges. Also, part of the garden is used for fish ponds.

And some vegetables as well as spices and herbs which are usually used for kitchen needs.

Seeing the Development of Durian Fruit Trees

Do you like durians? I'm sorry for those of you who don't like durian. The people here are mostly durian lovers, myself and my husband included.

I am happy to see that a durian tree that is not yet tall is bearing fruit. There are many fruits that are still small. Some of them have grown.

Anyway, these durian trees were bought by my husband's uncle from my husband's durian nursery. My husband is also very happy that the durian tree seeds are bearing fruit now.

I can't wait for the durian fruit to ripen and fall from the tree by itself. The most delicious durian fruit is if it is allowed to fall alone from the tree. Don't pick the fruit even though it looks big. So, just be patient and durian will surprise us with its delights (for durian connoisseurs).

Harvesting the Oranges

Maybe you are wondering why the oranges I harvest are still green, not completely yellow. Well, in Indonesia there are many types of oranges. In my area, it is famous for orange for juice. The color is indeed yellowish green.

The oranges for the juice have a lot of water content. When we peel it, it will release a lot of water. So, usually I'll just cut the oranges in half, then press them with a manual juicer.

After the rain, the oranges look so fresh! I can't wait to make them orange juice.

The orange trees are not very tall so I can just pick the oranges by hand. No special equipment.

For the record, after picking, oranges should be left at least a day for a taste that is not too sour, before being made into juice.

I got a sack of oranges even though what I show in the photos is only a small basket. I'm glad my husband's uncle gave this all for free to me.

Seeing the Cows

Before going home and it was really dark, I went to the back area of the plantation. There are some cows there.

I feed the cows! What fun. It looks like they like me too.

Well, enough for this time. I am grateful and feel blessed for this joyful activity. Plus, the orange crop looks refreshing! See you!

What a beautiful enjoyment, I who live in the city and only see cement streets, I am very happy to see these beautiful gardens that you can walk through and enjoy the fresh fruit.

I have never tasted durien, many say it doesn't have a good aroma or taste, but you have to risk trying it, if you say you like it, it must be tasty hahahahaha.

A pleasure to join you @anggreklestari 🌺

Thanks for sharing your experiences...

I hope you can have a change to visit country side with green area.

No problem if some people do not like the fruit that is not from their country. Each country has own taste. So no problem 🙂

You're right and not only in fruit, maybe there are things from a country that other people don't like hahahaha. Greetings 🌸

Hello @anggreklestari you are blessed to be in a large garden with so many trees. I love oranges, I grew up enjoying a farm with many orange trees and about le durian, so far I have only read about it but don't know it. What I noticed is that it resembles the soursop in outward appearance because of the thorns. Thanks for sharing this special moment through very nice photos.

A hug 🌼🙏💙

Hello, @parauri
I love Oranges too 🙂

Inside the durian has white-yellow until orange color, depending on type of durian itself. Soursop have no smell, and durian has smell. 🙂

Oh sorry, my tardiness. Yes, there is a noticeable difference in the interior of durian compared to soursop. I hope one day to meet him.

When I have the most heavenly dreams, they take place in a garden full of fruit.

You are truly blessed to have such things growing. I would love to see a durian tree. A good durian is something that not just tastes good but it does something to the soul.

I should save money to buy the farm like that ahaha
Day by day, farm is expensive due to people from city want to build the house. So pity to see farm became modern area 🥲

Hello dear friend @anggreklestari good afternoon
There is nothing better than taking a walk at night before bed, especially if you can pick fruits while you do it.
Great photos, appreciate you sharing.

Hello, @jlufer
Garden walking always be nice activity
😊
Have a great day!

Each of your posts is just a masterpiece.
I've never seen durian grow, to be honest,
I haven't tried this fruit, but I would really like to.
Thank you for the wonderful photos and new knowledge :-)

I'm happy if people enjoy to read my post. Happy to share what I have here from my country 🙂

Thank you 🌸

This is definitely a type of orange I've never seen before. At first I thought it was a tangerine. They are both delicious and I love eating them in winter. I would probably eat them in summer, but it is very difficult to find tangerines or oranges in summer in Turkey.

I just finished a glass of orange juice from that crop 😅

Really refreshing.

General oranges from market usually just for eating directly because have no much more water😅

Unfortunately yes, when you buy oranges from the market, most of them are too watery and you can't squeeze the juice. Bon appetit, Chef!

You had a great time strolling around the place full of beautiful plants. I can do it all day if I can see these fruits ready for harvesting. Haha

I would love to visit that place often. ❤️

The happiness bonus is being able to harvest fruits or vegetables from these activities.

Indeed, it is one of the most satisfying feelings, to harvest your own fruits and vegetables.

And this reminded me of our farm.. I missed harvesting fruits there..
I'n not a fan of durian, but I like eating the flavored candies hehe

I'm sure you will always miss farm. Always be heavenly visit in the farm 🙂

Wow! What a fruitful place! You are lucky enought to have been surrounded with these fruit-bearing plants.

Thanks God, I have Oranges for juices. Better with fresh one than juice from market and expensive

True. Free and nutritious.

Oranges really do have a lot of water. It's one of my favorite fruits

Fortunately, in my living area has many type of orange fruits.

Then I think I should visit that area.

Having this garden is a healthy boost.

Indeed. Really refreshing 🙂
