From frost bite to sun burn

IMG_9365.JPGThe beautiful flowers of the Feijoa in the process of becoming fruit.

a quick follow up on our Pecans sharing their space with pumpkins for the first time with very good results. win win situation scenario.

IMG_9358.JPGbut on a different note, this year we have been blessed with an excessive activity emitted by the sun. Solar flares, CME´s, solar winds etc.
the effect of all of the above is more then visible in our plants.
even though it is fairly normal to see such sun burns in our summer, this year is very extreme. a combination of dry conditions, our "unfiltered" radiation (for lack of industries and hence contaminants in our area, the radiation hits us hard here), the heat and more makes an already extreme climate, even worse.

in the above photo, a young American Oak.

IMG_9359.JPGPecans, that are prone to these effects on their first year, are all suffering this year, even the older ones.
