Hello to all my friends here.
How are our gardens?
After consecutive days of rain, it is inevitable to worry about the vegetable crops. But even though I was worried, I still couldn't lose the excitement because it was close to reality or victory. Even though it rained heavily, my vegetables did not give up, they remained standing and fought. And finally, my garden started to bear fruit and I also harvested. This is a happy day for a farmer like me. After several days, weeks and months of caring, and giving my wholehearted time. The tiredness of caring also paid off. I started to harvest fruit, sometimes one or two pieces. And as the days and weeks passed, it increased.
On June 12, 2025, I harvested four pieces of my ampalaya or bitter gourd. I am very happy because I have seen the fruit of my hardship. And I am not the only one who is happy, my most supportive husband is with me.
A few days later, we harvested bitter gourd again. I let my husband harvest six pieces.
And this morning, I got nine pieces of bitter gourd. It's really fun because it helps me save money. I'll save the budget for buying bitter gourd or buy other things I need at home.
And even though we're happy, it's inevitable that there will be a little problem like this one that was bitten by an insect because it ripened early. And I was really disappointed. How can this be avoided?
And here we are with my okra or lady finger, my hard work has finally paid off.
At first, I was so happy because it finally bloomed. And after a few days or weeks of waiting, I finally got 2 pieces.
And this morning, 7 pieces followed. And so far, my lady finger has remained healthy and maybe next time I will harvest more.
Here we are with my water spinach. In my previous blog, I asked my friends for suggestions because the leaves were turning yellow. I was really stressed about this but because of my curiosity and observation, I tried watering every other day. And as the days passed, it gradually got better. I realized that I had overwatered it, which is why the leaves were turning yellow. And I felt better. And hopefully one day my water spinach will fully recover and hopefully I can harvest it.
And here we are with my eggplant, it grew well, but the leaves have holes. As far as I know, insects ate it. I will also find a solution one day and overcome this too. Right now, I dug up the soil of the eggplant and pulled out the weeds around it.
And here we are with my only tomato. This is exciting because I don't know what kind of tomato it is because I just picked it up from the trash. So far, it has grown well.
And I also have a piece of chili or pepper and I don't know what kind it is because it suddenly grew in the middle of the lemon grass.
And I added something to my vegetables, it is string beans. Finally I also got its seedlings. I asked my friends a few seedlings and yes luckily they had but few .Even though it was just a few, I still continued planting because this is what I will get many seedlings someday. And I hope it will live and bear a lot of fruit.
And my lemon basilgrows well. Since its green leaves have flourished.
And that's all about my garden and maybe next time I can add more vegetables to my garden. And for now I have a plan to clean up the other area for planting and prepare the soil as well.
And how about your gardens guys, have you been rewarded yet?
Until next time. Bye.

Harvesting yields from our beloved garden is really rewarding. Hard work finally pays off! Just wow! The bitter gourds are really thriving. What an impressive harvest! They are spotless and really look delicious. I must confess I ate ampalaya while they were still hanging on their vines when I was young, lol 😅 I just love the taste - bitter with a little sweetness and juiciness.
I want to know how many bitter gourd plants you planted. They are bearing much fruit each day. We planted 16 seedlings and all of them are growing well now, so I'm wondering how much harvest I will get out of those 16 seedlings. 😊
A lovely post, but not sure it answers the #hivegardenqotw this week? Perhaps you just meant to use the #gardenjournal tag instead.
