Plants for the Vertical Garden | Vida Verde 💚

in HiveGarden2 months ago (edited)

Hello planet lovers to create the ornamental vertical garden area I have been looking for several options, observing the behavior of several plants that are resistant and like the climate of El Hatillo, this is a tropical forest climate, because for us it is very important that the space stays really green and works as nature does.

We will have a lot of work and I want to focus more on the food processes of the garden and agroforest that will need more attention. So for me selecting the ideal plants for the vertical garden is important, these plants should be eye catching, showy and low maintenance.

But also I want that these plants are happy and that this way they fulfill their function the vertical garden, this has its importance, since not only we do it for something ornamental, but to control the temperature, this will be in charge to maintain our house container fresh as a natural insulator and for it I brought several plants to the land, that I believe are ideal for this climate of mountain since in its majority I brought them of my maternal house where also the climate is fresh and humid.

Already being here and seeing that they were happy I began to reproduce them to have the necessary quantity for the vertical garden.

Today I come to tell you about some of them, I will call them by the daily name used in Venezuela, I would love to know if they are in your countries and how they are called there.

Arrocillo

This beautiful plant is one of my favorite because I love its color, texture and shape is a low maintenance plant and great resistance it spreads easily, it is super easy to reproduce when growing looks beautiful, falls cascade type these are still growing but grow very lush, ideal for a green wall is very resistant, is of the family of succulents.

Purple cockroach

This one does not go unnoticed and makes good contrast with the greens, the most striking thing about it is when it blooms and gives those beautiful lilac flowers that make it look even more, which is the one on the cover of this post, she is also a plant of easy growth, but you have to be careful and control it a little so that it does not get out of control. But it fulfills very well the function of decoration and low maintenance that we need.

Millionaire

I am not sure it is a very good choice for the vertical garden because these last days it has lost its strength, it is a bit sad and in a vertical garden you have to have plants with very little attention and maintenance. Here its leaves look pale and sickly, perhaps due to the excess of water from the rains.

These and the purple cockroach are daughters of the plants planted by my mother, so I love them very much, my mother is no longer physically with us, but for me it is very important to have them in my vertical garden. A mother always gives shade and shelter, these plants that she planted and cared for in her garden with so much love will give just that to our Green Home, they will give shade and shelter.

For me it is a nice reminder of her and a symbolic way to feel her close.

This green wall has about 5 hours of sun daily from 10am to 3pm, so they will also have a nice shade and sunshine.

I'm missing some ferns to complete this beautiful vertical garden that I plan to take from the area to finish giving it that super chic tropical touch.

What a beauty of plants, I admire people who can give them the proper care and maintenance. The last time I tried to have plants, they all died, hahahaha, I felt like a bad mother and I never wanted to take care of it myself. I had cactus. The photos are beautiful, greetings, @cvnuitter 🤗.
