Nutritional Deficiencies in Hydroponics

For humans, if there is a nutritional deficiency, then what happens is that the body is no longer productive and reliable. What I mean is, if we, for example, have a continuous protein deficiency, there will be an accumulation of fat and malnutrition, so that the organs in our body can decrease in function. Marked by degenerative diseases and a lethargic body, however, if it happens to plants, what is seen?

I will show you something about it. You know very well that I always update about my hydroponics at home, right? Basically I always learn something. Whatever it is. This time I learned again about nutritional deficiencies in my hydroponic vegetables. Isn't it as you know that water spinach is actually very easy to maintain? But it turns out not. To get the best quality, water spinach also has difficulties.

Before all the 3-7 day old seeds enter the Styrofoam box, I usually prepare nutrients in the form of ab mix which is usually used as a hydroponic planting medium. I have checked the ppm that will be used correctly, but it turns out that there is a tragedy that occurs that makes all my water spinach change color to more yellow.

If you notice, this water spinach has two colors that are not too significant but if you look at it in detail, it will appear that the leaves are different from one another. Do you know what this is caused by? Nutritional deficiency that I don't know the cause of. I strongly suspect that the TDS meter that is usually used to accurate the ab mix nutrients is damaged and causes a factual discrepancy with what is on the TDS meter screen.

That's why this time it is certain that I failed to harvest water spinach and to distribute it to the traditional market. Usually I always sell water spinach with the best quality. It seems that I have to start again to plant new seeds and maybe some of this harvest will be shared with my neighbors or sold at a cheap price.

That's the reality of being a farmer. It's not easy even though I've been with hydroponics for 10 years, nothing is certain in this world even if you are very professional, especially dealing with living things.

At least the other plants are still under my supervision and are growing well.

Interesting analogy of how plants can get sick just like us! I don't have hydroponics crops but I know very well when to tend the crops. I hope you can get back to growing nice quality spinach for you to sell at market. At the best price
