Take a Peek at Our Landlady's Enchanted Little Garden

in HiveGarden5 months ago

Hello, Hivers! Here I am again for a new blog. I hope all of you are doing well during this holiday season. But hey, I'm here to remind you not to succumb to holiday stress. Let me put a pause on that because I have something enchanting prepared for all of you.

Does anyone here also have a little flower garden/plants at the back of their houses or just a little flower display in the front? If you answer yes, then we are on the same page.

For almost a year now, we have lived as tenants but something interesting is, it comes with a perk. We get to live at the house and at the back of it is where you can find the enchanting little garden set-up and designed by our landlady. She's just the nicest person I know. She did not even mind splurging money on buying new plants and flowers because according to her, it gives her so much happiness to see them grow in her own little garden. To give you a bit of a back story, this garden was a vacant lot before and of course she owns it. Many people were questioning her why she turned it into a garden. In fact, she had the choice to use it to build a new rental house and earn money from it. Good thing, she's a strong-willed woman. She refused to listen to these external opinions that do not matter to her. As a result, this Little Garden was born.

Let Me Walk You Through The Enchantment of our Landlady's Little Garden

First stop: Orchids of different colors

IMG_20231220_104443.jpg

This one right here is an Orchid. It's nice how the color blended so well. As good as it blends, I love that this Orchid knows how to get along with other plants/flowers beside it. It's the same with saying "I know I'm almost occupying your space but what's the most important is we survive".

IMG_20231220_104545.jpg

This one is still an Orchid but in a different color. This time it's purple. Isn't it captivating to see this through our own eyes? I'm glad I was able to take photos of it before it even dried out. Plants like this are highly sensitive to the sun's heat, so as much as possible, gentle care should be given to it.

This one is another color to behold. It's a color pink Orchid growing in this little garden. This one somehow stands out from the crowd of plants that surrounds it. The color is just so enchanting. I would not mind looking at it for how many minutes.

And let's not forget the last color of Orchid we have, color red. Isn't it beautiful? Although this little cutie is a bit shy to show off it's beauty on the camera, it still captures so much admiration to the eyes that sees it. That already includes me.

Second stop: Flowering plants

Next up is another plant called Madagascar Periwinkle. It warms my heart to see that plants like this also grow in this garden.

IMG_20231220_105111.jpg

We have another one which is Bougainvillea. The beauty of this kind of flowering plants is unparalleled. I love that it continues to bloom even in the face of the scorching sun.

We've got another one on the list. Daisy is also present. A lot of people say that it's a wild flower that we can spot in our garden lawns. But one thing I admire about this flowering plant is its adaptable nature to survive in any environment it grows. As a human, I can relate. I adapt easily and even if it's uncomfortable at first, I still learn to ride the waves and before I know it, I was already in the place of comfortability.

We are down to our second to the last and it's none other than the Miniature rose. I get it that it's alone but its presence is really strong. It's not easy to be alone so I might as well tell our landlady to plant more miniature rose in the garden. It would really make my eyes happy to see more of this kind of plant.

IMG_20231220_105557.jpg

Neoregelia carolinae is also a chance to behold. Our landlady told me that it's really an interesting flowering plant because it turns red at the center when it's about to flower. I know you can spot the other one. There's redness in the center and I bet it's about to produce flowers.

Third stop: Non- flowering plants

IMG_20231220_105458.jpg

These two cuties are called *Zebra plant*. It's still not yet displayed in a specific area because our landlady just bought it the other day so she's still planning things out on where to best display it.

We also have what they call Alocasia. I like the vibe its leaves give. This kind of plant is not something I could easily spot if I go to some of my plant lover friends. It's just unique for me.

But wait.....It's not the end yet, there's still more I have to show. The photos below are some of the other treasures you can see in our Landlady's Little Garden.

It's really my pleasure to lead the pack as your virtual tour Hiver in this Enchanted Little Garden. I'm grateful as well to our landlady because through her, I developed my sense of love for plants. It also made me realize that plants are not just simply plants for people who value it. Imagine having to take care of it the whole time just to make sure it's healthy. From watering, making sure it's getting the right nutrients, spending some time pruning and even ensuring it's free from pests. All of these acts are evidently done by our landlady and it truly warms my heart to know someone who is so passionate of what she's doing.

One assuring statement I can say is "I am always with her in loving and taking care of her precious little garden".

That would be all for today my dear, Hivers! I hope you enjoy reading this. Happy holidays! See you on my next blog.
