Yes, it seems it can stay in the container. So do my Japanese maple tree 😊

Container fruit trees might answer a problem here. My garden is too small for standard fruit trees, even if I choose columnar or train them in cordons, but a tree that is happy in a container might work. I love your ideas for your balcony!
I found this idea in a balcony gardening book this winter. I will find a peach tree for my micro balcony to grow in a container so that I can carry it when we move to other place in the future ☺️
