That's not really a native plant, so I will look at other options. We have plants and I've seen a damselfly around, so they have found it. With our previous pond we had frogs and newts, so they will be around too.

I am sure that must be some plant that the mossies don't like in your area, and if a damselfly appeared, then maybe some dragonflies will also pitch up. I haven't seen your pond, but here the ponds have a few big rocks and some reeds around it, with a fountain as drags like moving water. But as you say frogs and newts can also be a threat to the mossies.
