April has arrived and the weather is still chaotic with extreme fluctuations in temperatures. Thankfully, during most days the sun has been shining which has helped to keep the greenhouse warm. But, at night, I have had to run heaters to keep the plants comfy cozy.
I started another tower garden this week and planted radish seeds to give them an early start. The second round of lettuce is up, and I put some of them into a hydroponic tray. The others will go into hanging baskets that I keep by the porch for easy access.
All the cabbages, cauliflower, onions, and Brussel sprouts are ready to be planted outside. I have to hold them off for another week due to the future forecast be too close to be freezing at night.
As you can see, we are still getting light snow flurries and high winds. Yesterday, a large tree came down and took out the power lines. It was hours before the electric company finished putting the lines back together.
I'm not sure what these plants are that seem to have survived the winter and are reemerging in the large cold frame. I forgot what I was trying to grow for a fall crop that did not come to fruition. lol
The hot pepper plants are getting too tall, so I pinched them back and now they are branching out. The stocks and flowers for the butterfly garden are doing fine. I need to fertilize them with the next watering as they are a little peaked.
The Impatien plants are growing quickly now that I moved them into the greenhouse. Some of them are budding and flowering. I will plant the largest ones up into hanging baskets this week.
The hydroponic spinach and Bok Choi are doing very well. This week I can start harvesting the largest leaves for dinner.
This was a tray of perennial seeds that I stuck out into the snow in January. I put it into the greenhouse to see if any of them would sprout. So far, Dianthus, Calendula, and Apricot Foxglove are sprouting. No Delphinium, Columbine or Coneflowers yet.
I'm trying to get the sweet potatoes to chit in this large pot, but so far after 2 weeks nothing yet.
I had poor germination with the Zinnia seeds, so I started another round this week along with more eggplant and some more peppers that I decided to try. I ordered them from my favorite company.
I have wanted to try this Satsuma Long Eggplant and also this variety of bush beans to grow in one of the large tower gardens.
That is this week's wrap up for what's happening in my gardening life, and I hope you are all having fun gardening too.
Until next time, this is Sunscape

You inspired me! I need to take about my plants too. Maybe I will do it by the end of the month after I will be back to the city from my business trip

A lot of us share about our gardening, so when you get back be sure to share.
Thank you! For sure I will! I am very bad in it but I am very inspired now 🥰
This is wonderful. Keep growing
Thank you, I sure will!
At times I feel, I should give it a try to hydroponic, you seem to be quite on top of everything.
It is not difficult at all to find the right hydroponic system to use. I like using food grade tubs and a float on top like in the photos. Many plants do well with that for me. You should try on a small scale for yourself.
Is it mature Bok Choi? This year I put my columbine in the fridge for 2 weeks and they have all come up. Boy, do I envy your greenhouse!
The Bok choi is a tiny variety and a regular size too. We shall see how they do. I need to harvest some of the spinach today. I love my greenhouse! It has grown a lot of plants over the past 20 years. It is my second one as the first one got taken out by an enormous tree. I may start more seeds today. :-)
Thank you, Ewkaw, I appreciate you!
