MyHome TG #9 | New Life of Old Curry Leaves!

This was last winter when 2 of my oldest curry leaves plants were nearly dying from a bacterial infection. Obviously, I tried many remedies, but sometimes the disease progresses so much that treatment requires surgery and not just medication. However, it is also necessary that the surgery should be done by a specialist only, which I was not back then and perhaps not a specialist even now but in order to save my plants from this disease, I gained some knowledge by watching different YouTube videos and reading some articles.

I was not able to take pictures of the plants affected by the disease, but by looking at the photos below, you can get an idea of ​​what this blooming plant would look like when about 70% of the leaves have fallen and the remaining leaves have become dry and dark.

Anyway finally, a month ago, I trimmed all the leaves and literally halved the height of both my curry leaf plants, One of the reasons for reducing the height was that if the plant becomes taller in a small pot, then neither the stem of the plant will be strong nor will it grow dense because all the energy of the plant is wasted just in making it taller. Anyway at that time I was scared to see the dry stem that I had made some mistake in cutting, will it turn green again? Whereas I had followed the correct procedure, was watering the plants at the right time and now both the plants were getting bright sunlight for most of the day. But still, I don't know why both of them looked like dry twigs for almost a month.

By the way, I also had a miraculous hope for the monsoon rains, because I have seen many times that even withered plants blossom after being touched by the monsoon raindrops.
But by the grace of nature, I saw the beginning of new shoots on both these plants a few days ago, seeing which I got super excited way before the monsoon.
