If there’s one thing, I love about exploring places close to home, it’s discovering hidden gems that offer peace, beauty, and a breath of fresh air. Over the weekend, I had the chance to visit another charming spot tucked away in Cabantian Hills—and this time, it’s a place called Buk-Id.
It’s located in the same barangay—Cabantian Hills—which I’ve mentioned in my previous blog about Stampa, a mountain restaurant known for its breathtaking scenery. Stampa offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains, the ocean, and both the sunrise and sunset.
Buk-Id, however, is a different experience. Unlike Stampa, this place is much closer to the highway, making it more accessible.
On our way to Buk-Id—which literally means "farm" in English, though we pronounce it in three syllables like Buk-I-D (funny how it sounds in Visayan!)—I couldn’t help but feel a rush of excitement. It was another dream journey unlocked. As we got closer, I found myself speechless, just soaking in the moment and the beauty ahead.
This was the overlooking view near the gate where Ate Ellen, our lady driver, parked her car—and as you can see, the mountain is really high.
We arrived first and took a selfie in the car, noticing we were at the lower part of the area—at the bottom, so to speak. From there, the real adventure began. We needed to make our way uphill to reach the main spot. Step by step, we ascended, each one building more excitement. The path wasn’t too steep, but just enough to keep the anticipation growing with every stride.
And once we reached the top—wow. There it was, a high, overlooking view that was absolutely beautiful. You could see the wide-open space, the greenery, and the peaceful surroundings. It was the kind of view that instantly makes you feel calm, inspired, and grateful to be there.
Were inside and I’d seize the opportunity to have selfie photo if myself while them were still and awe and appreciation of this beautiful spot we visited, it was 4 pm in the afternoon.
We arrived at our first stop—hehe! We were really enjoying the moment, feeling the excitement build as our adventure was just beginning. This was merely the introduction, and it already promised so much more to come.
Look at these bears they're so cute and adorable it really caught my attention hahaha
This place was full of flowers—colorful, fresh, and everywhere you looked. The vibrant hues created a mesmerizing tapestry, with delicate petals swaying gently in the breeze. The air was filled with a symphony of fragrances, making it a truly enchanting experience.
Hoping to capture the charm of this scenic spot, I asked Ate Ellen to take a few photos while I posed among the view.
All the more beauty from here!
This was the view as we arrived at the middle top of this area, but the wide ocean as well as the hills on the opposite are there and it’s quite peaceful and calm during that time when we and our visit just us and two couples who had their moment at the top before our time to be there too.
This is Nanay Ladia, taking her step toward the goal—which, at first glance, seemed to be reaching the top. But really, what she truly wanted was the joy of the walk itself: the adventure of moving, of exercising, of simply being in the moment.
Meanwhile, Ate Ellen and I were getting along wonderfully, taking selfies, striking poses, and capturing the fun with every snap of the camera.
At one point, we were all laughing together as I jokingly coached Nanay Ladia on how to pose like the younger crowd. I told her, "Nay, you have to do it like this—like that!" We called it the “aesthetic and nature vibe.” She couldn’t stop giggling at herself as she tried to follow along. She even said she felt like a teenager again—young, healthy, and beautiful—just enjoying our time together
Of course, as the storyteller behind all of this, I couldn’t miss the chance to take a few photos of my own—both as a keepsake and to share with all of you. It’s truly my pleasure to take you along on this little tour.
I only had my front camera to work with, since Ate Ellen was already feeling a bit irritated by the scorching heat at that moment. But guess what? Despite that, I managed to get some really good shots—every single one of them turned out great!
This was the place at the top. The afternoon sun was intense—it was quite hot—but somehow, the beauty of the view made it all worth it. Captured through the lens, everything looked even more breathtaking. I especially loved how peaceful and quiet it was up there. There was a kind of stillness that made you want to just pause, breathe, and take it all in—like the world slowed down for a moment just for us.
I had my bag and my tumbler while I was at the top doing my task to capture moments
Meet ate Ellen with her stunning beauty and with the beauty of nature oh wow!
This is the result of Ate Ellen's photography, and I absolutely love it! The way the stunning sun kisses my beautiful face—eyy, hehe—and the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding landscape, along with the mesmerizing view of the ocean, all come together perfectly in this shot
This was the view from above, at last we finally reached the top which has a view deck to and it was really relaxing and refreshing there with the heat of the sunset.
I love this part of the area as well. As I gazed downward, I imagined myself playing on the vast expanse of land, surrounded by various animals grazing peacefully. The thought of living here fills me with a sense of tranquility, peace, and immense satisfaction. It's truly an enjoyable and serene place.
Reflecting on our visit to Buk-Id, it's evident that this hidden gem in Cabantian Hills offers more than just picturesque views; it provides a sanctuary for the soul. The blend of natural beauty, heartfelt laughter, and shared moments has etched lasting memories in our hearts. If you're seeking a peaceful retreat that rejuvenates the spirit and connects you with nature, Buk-Id is a destination worth exploring.

You had a wonderful time with your companions enjoying the scenery and relaxing view of the mountain. The lady enjoyed the interaction too and she gladly followed along. A newly visited place deserves to be captured countless times, experimenting on different angles with the help of the natural light from the sun. 😀🙂

Ooohhh nicee! Yeahhh soon 🥹 just call me and I can tour you out there hehel
Bukid is a peaceful place to visit. The beautiful picturesque view and wants to connect with nature this is the best. Good for hiking too. Have fun and take care.😍
Yess pooo, yong sabi nila na so hard mamuhay sa bukid I can say yes because Iba na mundo now lalo dahil high technology na, pero bukid has a different to offer na di ma ooffer ng city and yes indeed po good for hiking satisfying makaakyat sa itaas, and bukid will definitely helps us to grow healthy and physically fit 🙂
Honestly before I dont like to live in the farm/province. But when I get older I prefer more peaceful and simple life. Farm life more things to give us. And hiking now I love it. Were just waiting for the time our youngest will finish her studies. My husband and I wants simple farm life.
Yeahh and that's the power of nature, it will always pull us up to stay where natural living is present. Ahhh ganon po ba ate, maganda po yan, mas tahimik sa bukid 🥹🙌
We live in the village. Its not crowded in our place. Houses here less than 100. Sobrang tahimik. The weather is good kaya maririnig mo huni ng ibon. Pati woodpecker 🤣
Wooow, super ganda po talaga as in natural peace and quite place. Galing!
Yes! Summer is beautiful here. But now still cold and windy kahit spring na minus degree Celsius pa rin. 🥰
