Plus, being near the Thai border means as we get older, if we need modern medical care, it will be a hop, skip, and a jump away.
This way we can have the simple laid back life of Cambodia, but can take what modern things we need from Thailand. Also, my wife will be able to get a special ID card allowing to cross the border freely into the neighboring Thai province.
