Some dog buddies coming by the office for snacks

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY2 years ago

Most of my buddies have 4 legs and we look after quite a few of them on site as well as at locations all over the Krabi, Thailand area.

I have an open-door policy for my "friends" and they frequently stop by for a pat on the head and also hoping that I've got some treats for them

I don't always reward them for coming by because then they would just come by in an endless loop. Dogs don't ever seem to think they have had enough to eat and will always want more. So I kind of regulate how much I give them. We rarely see any fights or even growling over snacks because if I am going to hand them out at all, I make sure I have enough for everyone.

Little moments like this bring me great joy and I am sure it does to the dog friends as well. Our office is not a fancy one but the dogs don't seem to mind and for the most part, neither do I.

Things are looking up for our future at the moment because Thailand is having a real push to get tourists back into the country and in the past this is where 90% of our donations of time and money have come from. It hasn't happened yet but there is a lot of pressure from the Thai people to open the borders up and make entry easy. It remains to be seen if this will happen but already it is significantly easier for people to get into Thailand and they are making visas a lot more accessible than they were in the past.

If this wave of tourism ends up being a success, hopefully we can reap the benefits for our organization as well. We have to get those treats somehow otherwise there will be a lot of disappointed puppies when the turn up for a visit only to discover I've got nothing for them!

So glad to see, kind of beautiful picture of the day. It seems that they are needed food and thank for sharing them the snack too eat. You are such a kindness person.

You treat these dogs as your good friends and that is just great. I hope that the tourists will be back in Thailand and you will be able to have funds for your projects.

This is something we are very hopeful for in the future. We aren't expecting much help at first but keep our fingers crossed that the government will make this country wide open soon. We have many people that have offered to volunteer with us who live overseas but they won't come here until the restrictions are lifted. While vaccinated people can technically get into the country now it is still so much of a hassle that people are opting to go somewhere else.

Crossing my fingers for you that donations start flooding back in as this is a great cause. I would expect the Government to assist you guys as what you do is in everyone's best interest along with the dogs of course.

Government assistance would be nice of course but then they would probably try to micro-manage it and we don't want that. The funding coming flooding back in would certainly be nice!
