Hello dear Hiveians...
today is another update of my blog about our new life in the Philippine.
The thing I have concern the most from our migration project is "how our daughter would cope with it".
Would she have a severe culture shock and miss her old home?
She is a tough little girl, yes, and she's very excited about the idea since we had mentioned it to her...true, and we have done our best to prepare her and her personality did give us the courage to go on with our project.
Neverthless a theory is always different with the practice. We could never be sure how it will turn out until we're truly facing it.
And now.... I'm even more convinced that we didn't make a bad choice, at least when it comes to our little girl's wellbeing.
Our little girl has been really doing very well adjusting to her new life in a new country.
To show you how positive her outlook towards life, different cultures and new experiences, here you can see her independently searching video tutorial of Tagalog (the local language) in YouTube and learns the language diligently, voluntarily.
She is very proud when she can teach her mommy new words, finally she can play teacher with Mommy as the pupil LOL.
Below is the link to a short Reel-Video of her learning Tagalog with YouTube-assistance, and some pictures.
INSTAGRAM REEL VIDEO
And some pictures of her learning...
The park near the entrance of the community...
And some snapshots of our strolls nearby the village and on the way to the nearest shopping center.
Yes... she's really a tough little girl, never complain that much to go on foot everywhere. The nearest shopping center is about 3 km away from our condo (our unit is at the furthest back area of the community, to the entrance gate itself is about 700m away from home, therefore we don't get the traffic noise as it's far from the mainstreet).
Back and forth to the shopping center it will be 6 km away. I'm proud of her :).
The picture below was taken during a night stroll nearby the community. She took a short stop because she found some trashes on the ground and complaining about it LOL. At the following day she goes back with daddy carrying a plastic bag to collect some trash.
...Anyway after awhile we finally found the more comfortable route there where the street is not loaded with many traffic and more trees along the way to give more shades. We only have to go along the busy main street about 700m to the mall...
Along this route we could somehow enjoy the sight of few pretty villas, meet some friendly villagers sometimes and of course also some beautiful tropical flowers...
Last but not least...
I found a signboard on the way with few contact numbers one can call when help is needed. How well it actually the service work here in this city I just can't confirm it...and frankly speaking, I wish I would never have to confirm it at all. I hope we'd never need to call that number :).
Ok friends... that's all for today and thank you in advance for stopping by and giving your support with the upvotes and comments.
Have a nice weekend...
I almost missed this! I love so much about the post. It is quite exciting, and we almost can see it through your daughter's eyes. She is eating up the new experience, it seems.
I love her shoes!!Always a colorful pair to go with her outfit.
I wish you good luck on your walking expeditions, and on your shopping (for new furniture, etc.) I would enjoy the walks, but not the shopping.
A most wonderful blog.
That’s very neat! You have become a student of your daughter on Tagalog.
The surroundings look so peaceful and full of greenery. The shopping mall is a bit too far! You’ll need a bicycle soon!
Thank you... Yes, you are right. We would probably buy a bycicle rather soon. But now we need to buy furniture, appliances etc first for the new home 😅. That's already giving me a headache ☺️
Oh! You’ll be shopping for big items for your place! Hope there are good selections of electrical appliances in your town. This process would take time and attention. Take it easy!
Hope you’ll able to have all your favourite items installed in as little time as possible.
Bald wird sie unsere Übersetzerin sein können! :)
If she's persistent enough, I believe that day would come quite fast.
