Visit Wat Si Sai Mun, a small Thai temple almost 300 years old with beautiful Lanna art style architecture.

Hello everyone. Last month me and my wife had the opportunity to go to a temple in Chiang Dao district. We happened to see this temple. And we decided to stop by and visit this temple. Because we see and like beautiful pagoda of temple, when we look from outside this temple. This temple is called Wat Si Sai Mun.
Wat Si Sai Mun was established as a temple in A.D. 1732. This temple is almost 300 years old. And in the year A.D. 1930 Wat Si Sai Mun received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree.

Wat Si Sai Mun is located in Chiang Dao Subdistrict, Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province. We traveled from Fang District to Chiang Dao District on Highway No. 107, Chiang Mai - Fang route. Most of the routes from Fang District District to Chiang Dao District are winding and natural routes. I take pictures of the scenery on the way from Fang District to Chiang Dao District and share with my friends too. Take a look.

When we arrive the temple. Outside the temple before entering the entrance arch of the temple. We can see the name plate of Wat Si Sai Mun. The name plate of the temple looks old but it is made of stucco with beautiful patterns.

The entrance arch of the temple in Lanna art style is made of wood. And the entrance arches to the temple on the left and right sides have lion sculptures.

The pagoda of this temple has a beautiful shape made of stucco and painted gold and in front of the pagoda there is a standing buddha image made of stucco painted gold.

Wat Si Sai Mun has a buddha image hall (viharn) and ordination hall (ubosot). Buddha image hall (viharn) larger than ordination hall (ubosot). The Buddha image hall (viharn) is made of Lanna style painted white cement decorated with painted gold stucco patterns. The doors and windows of the buddha image hall (viharn) are also adorned with stucco patterns painted gold too. Buddha image hall (viharn) therefore looks beautiful in Lanna Thai art style.

The entrance staircase to the Buddha image hall (viharn) is a serpent-shaped staircase decorated with stucco patterns painted in gold.

The ordination hall (ubosot) is also beautiful. But the ordination hall (ubosot) is more simple decorated than the buddha image hall (viharn). Take a look.

Behind the temple, there is a Lanna style entrance arch made of wood, but smaller than the front entrance arch.

Wat Si Sai Mun Although it is a small Thai temple. But this temple has beautiful architecture. The overall atmosphere looks beautiful and peaceful. Me and my wife enjoy and like this temple.
