My first time seeing wild strawberries.

It is very unusual for me to find a strawberry plant around us because I live in a usually warm climate area but there are still some who have also tried to plant them.

For me, eating fresh strawberries is delicious, but if you buy them in stores here, they are really expensive and I can't afford them. Even if I can afford them, I also regret them afterward, so I usually only eat strawberry-flavored foods.

So when there was a time when I and my partner was on traveled to Dalaguet, Cebu to visit the highest peak in Cebu. Surprisingly I passed by a strawberry-like fruit along the trail when we were about to go down from the peak.

Because I was so excited, I immediately asked the guide for permission if could take it and I asked first if it was edible and the guide said that it was a wild strawberry and it was okay to take them.

That's it and I picked it. And even though I was excited to taste it, I continued to go down hoping that we would reach the bottom first to try to taste it and we could go home after.

Because I was too curious, I didn't taste it right away and first I took a lot of pictures, I also checked the difference with real strawberries.

I'm really amazed because it was the first time I'd seen a plant of wild strawberries but when I started to taste it, it doesn't taste like strawberry. The inside is kind of hollow unlike real strawberries when I tried to feel the taste its kind of sandy and it tastes sour and sort of bitter and had no aroma at all but despite that, I finished eating them thinking that maybe some of them are sweet but there's no sweetness at all.

Anyways I'm still happy to see that kind of fruit even if it was not delicious as real strawberries. Hopefully, I can probably be able to see true strawberry plants and able to pick fresh fruits from them someday. ☺

How about you guys do you have this kind of wild strawberries in your place too?

Sort:

see the small Strawberry that you share of course I really want to enjoy it directly even though it looks a little sour but it is one of the delicious fruit and also very reluctant

I don't know if you would like it either it doesn't have much similar taste to real strawberries. 😁

It's my first time to hear Wild Strawberries. The last time I ate strawberries is that when I was eight years old. It is also the last time when we went to Baguio haha. I want to travel there if money is not an issue. We don't have wild strawberries in our place since we are living in a scorching city.

Haha. Same here I love to visit Baguio also if I'll be given a chance. Especially I love to see their strawberry farm to taste fresh strawberries 😋

Hello friends, eating strawberries is great, if we can grow them well and technically, I will try to grow them a lot for the sake of popularity.

Yes, that's right strawberries are very good to eat. If you can try to grow them let me know about some techniques.🙂

From the outside it looks almost the same as normal strawberries. I've never seen one like that and here too strawberries are expensive and are not many here either. Have a wonderful day.

Yeah, they really look the same but the taste was really different. Thanks! You too have a great day ahead 🙂.
