Tua Pek Kong, Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia
Recently, I went to Bintulu and prayed at this temple, one of the oldest temples in Bintulu. This temple is more than a hundred years old.
The beautiful pagoda
This pagoda is still under construction. The dragons are in different areas of the roof protecting the temple from harm. After praying at the altars of the temple, the last thing to do usually is to burn some money.
The entrance of the temple. This temple is painted with lots of gold paint.
This temple is located in the middle of the city of Bintulu. This temple is located convenient for everyone to pray as they come here.
This temple is built on the second story.
The steps up the temple. Lots of jade cravings in the middle. It feels like we are walking into the past. The temple at the moment is being renovated and upgraded. Repainted to preserve it for the future generations of Bintulu to admire.
Lots of amazing golden artwork at the side of the temple. It's amazing how all of these are craved perfectly. Some of the workers work on parts of the temple.
The amazing bell. I guess, if you hit it, you will be blessed.
The ceiling of the temple
Vintage design with lots of wooden frames. There are a couple of beautiful vintage lanterns hanging from the ceiling of the temple.
My wife praying. Many candles are being lit in front.
Lots of golden dragons surround the pillars of the temple guarding the temple from evil.
My wife hitting the bell.
This is a visit to one of the oldest temples in the city of Bintulu. After being at the temple, it was time to head off to other parts of the city to explore. I went to the fresh market nearby the temple.
Thank you very much for reading this post. If you have a chance, do visit this temple.
