Flexing My Mother's Little Farm

I let everyone know that my mother was a farmer. Even though he is close to 60 years old, she still really wants to dig the land. She really liked planting from childhood until now. It's just near her farm, 10 mins. just if you walk.

When she goes to her farm, it's really comforting, because it's steep in the beginning, then on the mountain it's a bit flat, walk a little and then a farm. Here she has corn plants, this corn is really just for her food, when she harvests it she will send it to the corn grinding machine to make rice corn, this is her food. She likes corn rather than rice because he can't be satisfied with rice. She is really looking for corn.

The other grind of the machine that is very fine, we feed it to the chicken, my Mama can also save it. SHe also has sweet potato plants, it makes double purposes, because we also like sweet potato tops salad. The sweet potato tops we just boiled and then season with vinegar, lemon, onion, ginger, tomato, chili. You can also just dip it into Bagoong. There is a healthy salad, we paired it with a raw banana cooked in boiled. Then we eat the sweet potato fruits, we make sweet potato chips, sweet potato Toron in what we can think of to cook. When there are too many, my mother sells 35 per kilo to her co-worker.

This corn and sweet potato are really the ones she will take care of in everything. Because it's the only one that can survive the heat that even if you don't water it really grows. Sometimes even though her farm is nearby, she doesn't go home, she just sleeps there. It's not hot, she just puts leaves on the ground so he can sleep, it's not scary on her farm, because the nearby land with a farm is also just for her siblings.

Not in all cases is, prosperous. There are many times when her plants also fail. When she tells stories about her plants that I feel sorry for her and feel sad because I know how hard she is and tired. She doesn't want me to help her, mama knows that I need to take care of a child. All I can help her, taking care of her animals here at home, clean and when she arrives I cook and brews coffee for her. If when we go to her farm with the children , she feels sorry for them because mosquitoes are bitten us, that's really normal in the forest. So this is one of the reasons she doesn't let us go on the farm.
