Hello my loving Asean Hive community

Today I made some sweet treats. Today I made is some fruit candy. When Covid-19 was bad, I saw on Facebook that many food vloggers made fruit candy and ate it while staying home. They make fruit candy mainly from fruits and sugars such as strawberry, grapes, apples. I have also seen some food vloggers make and eat vegetables with sugar. The vegetables they use are vegetable like chili, garlic, ginger. Ever since I saw how they made fruit candy, I have wanted to try that fruit candy. But I did not do it at the time because I thought it was a little difficult to make that fruit candy. However, I will share with you how to do it today as it is very easy to do when I try it out today.

You do not need a lot of ingredients to make fruit candy. The main requirement is
• fruit
• sugar and
• water.
I do not use garlic and ginger used by food vloggers. I used apples and oranges. I want to use grapes and strawberries, but I did not go to the market today, so I used apples and oranges.

First, I thoroughly washed the fruit with water. I originally intended to use the yellow fruit shown in the picture. But I did not use that fruit because it was too much for me alone.

First, I peeled the apple. Then I slice the apple into small pieces. I made orange the same way. Then I attached the fruit with small sticks.

Now is the time to make sugar syrup. To make a sugar syrup, you need to mix the sugar and water in the right proportions. The sugar syrup used to make fruit candy is a 2: 1 mixture of sugar and water. I use a cup full of sugar with the cup mentioned above to make sugar syrup. As for water, I use only half that cup. Some even add a little honey for the aroma.

I heated the water and sugar I had measured in a pan. When heating sugar and water, you do not need to heat it at high temperatures. You also need to stir the sugar syrup with a spoon.

Once the sugar syrup has boiled as shown in the picture, I can start to make fruit candy. I applied the sugar syrup to the fruit as shown in the picture. Then I chilled the fruit on a plate. Applying sugar syrup to fruits should be done quickly. This is because sugar syrups solidify quickly.

When the sugar syrup hardens, you get fruit candy. Biting that fruit candy is a bit like biting an ice cube. My brother came to eat this fruit candy with me, so the fruit candy quickly ran out.

The candy can be done by different fruits right 🤔. Apple candy seems like my type. I would go for it. 🤣 it seems like a traditional candy from China but I've forgotten what name

Yess. When I was young, when I visited China, I saw people selling things like this fruit candy. But I do not know what to call these candy.

Is called 冰糖葫芦 in Chinese but in English have different name for it

I have never seen anything quite like this. In the USA we have caramel coated apples, that is about the closest thing I can think of. I like how you made a sugar syrup to coat these, I bet it gives a really different crunchy texture that pairs well with the crispness of the apples. I'm in transit at an airport in Miami, USA, now, and there is nothing good to eat here, could sure use some Myanmar apples.

As a kid, I used to find this kind of fruit candy that I used to visit in China. But I did not know what it was called in Chinese until a friend of mine told me it. When I applied the sugar syrup on the apple, I was worried that the taste of the apple would change. But the taste of apples did not change. May you too be safe and happy on the journey ,Sir.

Im interested to try those apple candies!!!

Give it a try, friend. I think it tastes better with strawberry.

Strawberry is expensive here in the Philippines. Apple is okay. Ahahaah

Fruit caramels? Interesting, even though looks simple but I never think about it this way before :)

My nephew will like this candy for sure. I have oranges and mango today :)

Give it a try. I think your nephew will like these fruit candies because they have a sweet and fruity taste. If you add a little honey, the aroma will be more fragrant.
