Some people believe that these are Buddhist flowers or Udumbara, and that they bloom just once every three thousand years, according to an absurd myth. There are also those idiots who assume this is a microscopic fungus. They're actually the eggs of lacewings, a species of net-winged bug in the Chrysopidae family. Lacewings lay their eggs at the ends of long, hair-like strands of silk to protect them from predators such as ants and spiders .
