Monomad Challenge: Light Leaves Shadows :)

in Black And White4 years ago (edited)

Pun intended, haha.
Today, while I sat down basking in boredom I couldn't help but admire the way the sunlight came in through my room window. Today was a really sunny day and I spent most of it indoors as I'm sure quite a number of us did.
With all the excitement, decided to get up, grab my camera and create something with the lighting no matter how bad the results end up (I actually had no ideas in mind).

Soon after, I went outside and got a plant then played with the light using a mirror and an afro comb whilst placing the plant on the table which was by my window. The mirror was used to reflect the light while the comb was used to create shadows from the reflected light. At a point I had to get my brother who was around (lucky me) to help with holding my makeshift set-up.
Here are the shots I got from experimenting:

Here's one shot I really liked, I guess my practical lighting set-up didn't do a bad job.

Different angle, different result.

Here's a photo without the comb casting the shadow.

Here's a photo of me holding up the plant just after I got it. Apologies to mother nature :)

And finally, here's a photo of me (well, mostly my camera). My hair's really overgrown as I haven't been able to get a haircut in 2 months now.

I decided to bump up the contrast on the photos while editing. I really seem to like how it looks and I'll try implementing it on future photos.
This post is my entry to today's #monomad challenge, created by @brumest.
Thanks for the opportunity and thanks for stopping by.
