On a flight at Hartsfiel-Jackson Atlanta Airport in Georgia, USA, I chatted with a passenger. He asked about my destination and frankly, I said I would visit several states in the United States, starting from New Jersey to LA.
The passenger next to me was surprised. “Wow, LA is a beautiful city,” he said with sparkling eyes. He admitted that he had never been there and wanted to vacation in LA, one day.
Hearing that, I felt lucky because I would visit LA and several interesting places there, including Hollywood Corner.
That happened in December 2012, when I was one of the participants of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). We were invited by the United States Government to participate in several activities.
While in the glittering Hollywood, I took pictures of several corners of the city with a pocket camera. This is my old photo collection. The great fire in LA reminded me of the city, including Hollywood and the artist housing that I had visited there. Well, I just passed by to see the elite housing of top artists. Unfortunately, the photos there have been posted before.
I photographed the hustle and bustle on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a sidewalk along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and 3 blocks of Vine Street in Hollywood, LA, California. People stopped and read the names of the celebrities there. I photographed several typical angles there, including The Hollywood Rosevelt which is one of the icons. I dream of staying there someday, but I don't know when.
I photographed a pair of teenagers peering through binoculars after inserting a coin. They, like me, saw the HOLLYWOOD landmark in the distance. The hill may now also be part of the part that was burned by fire.
Currently, the glittering city of Hollywood may look gloomy and full of sorrow amidst the flames that continue to be extinguished. I hope that the fire will no longer burn in LA and the city will be reborn more beautifully. And I also hope to visit LA again, I don't know when and how.[]
It was a very enjoyable trip of course, especially since we had time to capture every corner of the city.
