Hi there, black-and-white photography lovers!

My entry for this #Monomad challenge is of a different kind. Some months ago, I I saw a post by @manuphotos. This Cuban Hiver has some mad skills in documentary photography and was showing some parts of Cuba where there's colonial architecture.

I was bold enough as to comment that some parts of downtown in Cumaná have the same kind of style. I bet every Spanish colony has something that resembles the type of construction. We were part of the Spanish Empire back in the day.

So this photos go dedicated to this very active member of the Cuban Hivers community and to all those who want to see a bit more of my hometown.

I didn't want to stray too far from the place I was going. There was a plants exhibit nearby and I took the chance to take these photos. My skills aren't as good nor do I have the same gear than him, but it was cool to go put and take photos of the buildings and streets as opposed to my usual luthierie shootouts.

As usual any comments and suggestions for better photos are always welcome. Just drop them below and I'll be more than glad to read you.

As some last trivia facts, the church you see there is dedicatedly to St. Ines, patron saint of Cumana. This isn't the original building. That one was destroyed on an earthquake during colonial times. The church got some paint work last year. They changed it blue facade for a yellow one.

¡Buen día, amantes de la fotografía en blanco y negro!

Mi participación en el reto #Monomad de este día es un poco diferente a lo usual. Hace unos meses, ví unas fotos tomados por el Hiver @manuphotos. Este miembros de la comunidad cubana dentro de Hive tiene un buen ojo y gran talento para la fotografía documental. En esas fotos, mostraba un poco de la arquitectura colonial en Cuba.

Fueo suficientemente atrevido para comentarle que algunas partes de Cumaná tiene arquitectura similar. Creo que casi cualquier ciudad en Latinoamérica debe tener vestigios de estas construcciones coloniales. Todos fuimos parte del mismo Imperio Español.

Así que estás fotos van dedciadas a este miembro activo de la comunidad cubana y a todos los que quieran ver un poco más del atractivo de mi ciudad natal.

No quise alejarme mucho del sitio al que me dirigía. Iba a una exhibición de plantas y me tomé el tiempo de recorrer un poco las calles de casco histórico de la ciudad para tomar estás fotos. Mis habilidades fotográficas no son tan buenas como las del Hiver que ya mencioné; mis equipos tampoco. Sin embargo, fue un ejercicio interesante tomar unas fotos diferentes al típico trabajo de luthieria que suelo mostrar por acá.

Como es costumbre, todos los comentarios que me puedan ayudar a mejorar como fotógrafo, sin bienvenidos. Solo déjenlos en la caja de abajo y estaré más que feliz de leerlos.

Como un último comentario al estilo de una trivia, les quería comentar que esa iglesia que pueden observar en las fotos es la iglesia en honor a Santa Inés, la santa patrona de Cumaná. No es la iglesias original. Aquel fue destruído en un terremoto que ocurrió durante los años de las colonias. Este edificio tuvo un trabajo de pinturas para su fachada. Ahora luce un color amarillo, contrario al azul que lució por años.
