Hello there, black-and-white photography lovers!

This is my entry for the monomad challenge.

After many attempts to get this right, I've finally done it. The rosette deal was way harder than expected. Of course, without proper tools everything becomes tougher. The hardest part and most important lesson about this kind of work is using softer woods unless you have power tools to get the cuts. It saves blades and frustration.

Also, if you want to make a combined piece from one or more woods, you need to glue them on something else. I used a piece of veneer to get them together and then removed it when I was gluing the rosette on the sound board.

The results weren't the best, but it is a way to fix some of the issues related to the job. I can't say I will try this again int he foreseeable future, but it remains to be seen. For now, I'll enjoy my small victory while you enjoy these shots.

Después de varios intentos fallidos, lo conseguí. Hacer la roseta fue más difícil de lo previsto. Claro, sin las herramientas apropiadas, todo va cuesta arriba. La lección más dura e importante de esta experiencia es utilizar maderas blandas para esto a menos que tengas herramientas eléctricas para los cortes. Esto previene frustraciones y acelera el proceso.

Además, si quieres combinar piezas para hacer una roseta de dos o más tipos de madera, necesitas pegar las piezas sobre algo. Aquí utilicé un pedazo de chapilla que luego removí a la hora de pegarla en la tapa armónica.

Los resultados no fueron los mejores, pero fue la manera que encontré de enmendar el error que ya había comentido. No puedo decir que voy a hacer más rosetas en el futuro. No al menos que ya tenga herramientas que me permitan tener más precisión para el trabajo. Ya veremos. Por ahora, disfrutaré de mi pequeña vitoria mientras ustedes disfrutan de estas fotos.
