DOF, People & Buildings - Balvanera, Congreso - Monomad Challenge.

DOF, People & Buildings.

My perfect days are gray days, unlike other people I prefer these scenarios, I find them much more interesting than sunny days where the entire sky is blue. I think this has to do with my vision and style of street photography, the cloudier or rainier for me the better, the more drama, the more nostalgia. This was two days ago, I needed to make a stop somewhere with big and iconic buildings and I needed to do it with the 85 mm lens, it's my favorite.

The way the asphalt looks after the rain, people with umbrellas, buildings in the background, beautiful structures in combination with passers-by, this is cool.

I went to the Balvanera neighborhood, where the national congress is and this was the first shot I took, it was very fast, so I configured my camera settings before getting there. It had rained very little and had stopped for a moment, a cyclist walks with his personal transport next to the congress, you can see the gate on the right side... f1.8

The front facade of the congress building and another cyclist.

It's amazing how imposing this building is at any angle, in relation to its design, height and details. At that time there were some tourist buses parked in front of the building, I suppose that if they weren't there the photo would be much better.

I took this photo with the 18-55mm kit lens.

We return to 85mm - f1.8... A delivery man and another in the background waiting for the traffic light to change, you can also see part of another emblematic building: Confitería El Molino and once again a car was cut into it 😂 It's a very busy area, it's not easy to have clean compositions unless you have a lot of time available to wait.

Well we don't always have the same luck, some compositions have to be created and other times we have to adapt to what the streets allow us. Once again, if the bus wasn't there everything would be much prettier, those two people, in the background the columns of Congress and also a girl walking her dog.

I have too many favorite photos from this set, I think I had very good results, I took more than 80 photos that I really liked, I still have to edit many of these.

I love this photo, it may be simple but it has a lot there, a girl, a bird accompanies her by her side, in front of her another classic building, a Hostel sign and old lanterns.

If we want something different here we have a common concrete bench, just a simple bench that is more interesting when you play with depth of field and a good angle.

A photo in the same place as the first but on the other side of the avenue, you can see some domes and the Confitería del Molino building. I also prepared a set of photos of this building, this last photo is one of them, soon I will be sharing this important work with you.

I really liked this series of photos and I would like to know if you have a favorite, which one is it and why?

I read you in the comments :)

As always, excellent street photography, my friend, your perspective of the streets are always very interesting and attractive!

Thank you very much for your kind and motivating words @naitreart friend!

The 85mm is just magical. Its my favorite focal too. I just realize that all your shoot looks cinematic. Great capture my friend.

I like that they seemed cinematic to you, I always try to have that atmosphere :) This lens is wonderful for street photography, especially for its brightness and bokeh.

Thanks for your kind words my friend @tawadak24

You are welcome my friend. :))

I'm the opposite, I don't like grey days so much, but such weather creates the perfect scenery for photography.

It's a matter of preference, but without a doubt any weather is perfect for photography.
