My love for the mountains began in 2009 when a friend took me to a Hindu temple called Badrinath in the state of Uttarakhand. Since then, this passion for the mountains has only grown stronger, and now I make about 10 trips a year to the Indian Himalayas.
All of today's black and white photos were taken from the Manali-Leh Highway. This trip took place in June this year, during which we were part of a running event and were traveling from Manali, Himachal Pradesh, to Leh, a city in Ladakh.
Upon reaching Sarchu, dark clouds gathered, and the scenery became dramatic. It seemed as if it would rain heavily, or even snow, as the cold weather was starting to intensify. We felt like we might get caught in a storm if we didn't leave quickly.
All our belongings were scattered along the highway, and it took a lot of effort to gather them as the strong winds had blown them all over the place. After getting our vehicle into Sarchu twice, we quickly enter the camp at the end of Sarchu. Thus, we escape the storm.
This is my entry for #monomad challenge.
