THE WEEK... || LA SEMANA || MONOMAD || ENG-ESP

Hello friends lovers of black and white photography... This week that is ending was very diverse in terms of photography. I had the opportunity to take my usual walks through the streets of the town, but I also visited swamps that appear with the arrival of the rains, a forest whose trees were burned during the recent drought, and I was even able to visit the old aqueduct of the town, a place where I had not been for more than a decade.

Hola amigos amantes de la fotografía en blanco y negro... Esta semana que culmina fue muy diversa en cuanto a fotografía se refiere. Pues tuve la oportunidad de hacer mis caminatas acostumbradas por las calles del pueblo, pero también visité ciénagas que aparecen con la llegada de las lluvias, un bosque cuyo arboles se quemaron durante la reciente sequía, e inclusive pude visitar el viejo acueducto del pueblo, un lugar a donde no había ido desde hace más de una década.

Street photography is still a pleasure, especially when it is done in these relatively solitary streets which are full of very interesting scenes. The truth is that I can no longer distinguish very well between the act of "going out for a walk" and that of "going out to take photos"... Both things merge into each other on a daily routine...

La fotografía de calle sigue siendo un placer, en especial cuando se hace en estas calles relativamente solitarias pro repletas de escenas puntuales muy interesantes. La verdad no se distinguir ya muy bien el acto de "salir a pasear" y el de "salir a hacer fotos"... Ambas cosas se funden una con la otra a diario...

It has been more than a decade since I last came to our old aqueduct. This is nothing more than a small dam that captures the local riverbed. However, the gradual decrease of the flow due to the destruction of the basins and the change of the climate (now it rains much less than before) has made this aqueduct less important and no longer useful. The village is now 90% supplied by groundwater pumping. But this place is still interesting to visit, it is a construction from the mid 50's and is often called "the water box" by the villagers.

Hace más de una década que no venía hasta nuestro viejo acueducto. Esto no es más que una pequeña represa que capta el cauce del rió local. Sin embargo, la disminución paulatina del caudal debido a destrucción de las cuencas y al cambio del clima (ahora llueve mucho menos que antes) ha hecho que este acueducto pierda importancia y ya no sea del todo útil. Ahora el pueblo se surte de agua usando bombeo de aguas subterraneas en un 90%. Pero este lugar sigue siendo interesante de visitar, se trata de una construcción de mediados de loa años 50 y los habitantes del pueblo suelen llamarlo "la caja de agua".

I was able to visit a farm which my brother-in-law has under his management.... It is a strange place, it belongs to another time and only now it has been returning to production and work there. However, you can walk around its corners and get these forgotten vehicles...

Pude visitar una finca la cual mi cuñado tiene a bajo su administración... Es un lugar extraño, pertenece a otro tiempo y recién ahora se ha estado volviendo a producir y a trabajar allí. Sin embargo, se puede caminar por sus rincones y conseguir estos vehículos olvidados...

On some of the flat, low-lying land around the village, marshes often form as soon as the rains start in April.... Then the first to arrive are these lovely whistling ducks and they start their breeding season making lovely noises and providing very charming scenes.

En algunos terrenos llanos y bajos de los alrededores del pueblo suelen formarse ciénagas apenas comienzan las lluvias en Abril... Entonces los primeros en llegar son estos encantadores pato silbadores y comienzan su época de reproducción haciendo encantadores bullicios y brindando escenas muy encantadoras.

I was also able to visit a forest which was completely burnt down in the dry season due to a fire. However, despite the severe damage, much of the vegetation there has already started to recover and the foliage has returned to some extent. This is an example of how resilient nature is if we give it a chance.

También pude visitar un bosque el cual se quemó completamente en temporada seca debido a un incendio. Sin embargo, a pesar de los daños severos, ya mucha de la vegetación de ese lugar ha comenzado a recuperarse y el follaje ha regresado medianamente. Esto es un ejemplo de cual resiliente es la naturaleza si le damos una oportunidad.
