ENGLISH
Humans pay tribute to other humans who've transcended.
Exceptional people, who stand out from the crowd and mark a before and after in history.
And in Venezuela, it seems, statues abound, mostly paying homage to military figures and religious leaders.
I think this can give you an idea of what kind of country we are, whether we like it or not.
The victory of the War of Independence is remembered by every government as a heroic feat, with a present that might make those who sacrificed their lives for the cause question things.
And don't even get me started on the Church, which established its belief through colonization, and not exactly by good means.
However, beyond the institutional aspect, there's a reason why the individuals representing it are remembered.
The reasons are many, from populism to genuine respect.
But it's time to focus on today, which lacks order, justice, and progress.
I think it's necessary to dedicate more resources and time to this, rather than using the past as propaganda for a destitute present.

It has always been like that in these countries of America, to keep in mind those images that in a certain way create a cult that can be used by many for good or bad.
Yes, and lately it's being used for bad.
