It is always a joy to be able to capture so many authentic looking cosplays over the years at the Calgary Comic Expo. I really find that whenever the weather is good outside and we get a good mix and sun and clouds, the lighting is the best to work with. I can play around and get some more contrast without things looking to unusual. There is more latitude in working with the shadows and highlights, accentuating features and details of the cosplays. I also find there are more opportunities to get a candid view of people as they walk the streets.
