Monomad challenge - Walking around lakes and canals.

I'm participating in the #monomad challenge with this post.

Title: Walking around lakes and canals.

Water and its surroundings are always home to life. Simply put, water is life. Unfortunately, there is no river where I reside; instead, there are a number of man-made lakes and an extensive system of canals. These canals are linked to the rivers so that it is possible to go all the way to the Danube with a small boat. A current tendency is for every nearby village to construct an artificial lake, typically on land that was formerly used for digging sand or clay. Different kinds of birds use each of these bodies of water as a habitat, either to feed or to build their nests.

Each new lake is a unique eco-system with a variety of plants and wildlife, serving as an oasis of life. I enjoy going to locations like this and staying there to watch the natural phenomena.

Even the urbanized artificial lakes in the city are everyone's home and must be protected.
