So... Split, is it?

Well, finally an awaited post came out, and now we now where this year's Hivefest is: beautiful Croatia, more precisely in Split!

Coincidence... the first and only Hivefest I've attended was in Amsterdam, 2022. And where had I been the week before?

Croatia! I had been longing to travel after the Covid crazyness, and decided to visit Croatia for the first time, and follow to Hivefest from there. Split was where I landed, and spent the first few days. So now, trying to see how feasible it is to visit again this year, a #monomad challenge is a perfect way to remember the city.

Split's old city is marvellous: so much history! Narrow stone ladded streets, mini mazes where you can get lost and find so many hidden gems along the way, from monuments and street art, to cozy restaurants.

I'm not an art fan, but I love old buildings and history, and this city definitely has an "ancient" vibe: the Diocletian's palace, the stone passageways, the different gates from where you can enter the old city, they all can take you back in time.

And when you want to get away from the city's confusion... nature is just a hill away! Marjan is just a short walking distance, where you can see Split from a higher ground, breathe fresh air... and have I mentioned the stunning beaches?

Near the clear Adriatic sea, Split has many options for a refreshing swim after a day of discovering the city, and not only further away from the center, since there are urban beaches as well. Or you can just stroll around the promenade facing the sea, if the water is too cold for you.

As you can see... there are plenty of reasons to go back, right?

And maybe I could revisit these views in full colour. I guess I'll find out soon how feasible it is; I know already that some of the cool people I've met in Amsterdam will be there, and it would be great to see them again, as well as meet new hiveans too. Fingers crossed!
