Entry for #monomad Challenge

1. Dany

It’s been a while since I wanted to put together a collection of photos I’ve taken of people from Pinar del Río—whether I know them or not—but who, for one reason or another, caught my attention.

Here’s a little sample of 9 photos. The first 6 are of family and friends.

Dany is quite a character and really into video games. I took this photo at night during a blackout and used the light from the device he was playing on to light him up.
Next up are Carlos and Odalys, waiting for the bus.
The photo of Juan Pablo was taken at night with very low light. I had to crank up the ISO to get the shot.
Ernesto (@ersusoficial) and I worked together for many years and shared a passion for photography. Even though it looks like he’s posing, I actually caught him off guard.
Marcos (@danielpl) was also a coworker, but for a much shorter time. He’s into photography too and just getting started.
Antero is a top-notch photographer—really into nature and street photography.

The last three photos were taken randomly on the street, surprising the people in them.

In this one, the young guy is totally zoned out from the world around him, completely focused on what’s on his phone.
Here, I caught the exact moment a man, probably tired after work, walked right past a slogan painted on the wall.
And in this photo, I caught an older guy, bent over from the years on his shoulders, walking past another slogan. I could’ve picked more photos or different ones, but I didn’t want this post to be too long and boring.

Hace un tiempo que quería hacer una recopilación de las fotos que le he ido haciendo a personas de Pinar del Río, conocidas o no, pero que por una causa u otra han llamado mi atención.

Te dejo una pequeña muestra de 9 fotos. Las 6 primeras son de familiares y amigos.

Dany es todo un personaje y muy aficionado a los juegos electrónicos. Hice esta foto de noche en medio de un apagón y aproveché la iluminación del dispositivo con el que estaba jugando.
A continuación aparecen Carlos y Odalys, mientras esperaban el ómnibus.
La foto de Juan Pablo fue hecha de noche, en condiciones de muy poca iluminación. ahí tuve que subir el ISO para poder obtener la imagen.
Ernesto (@ersusoficial), fuimos compañeros de trabajo durante muchos años y compartimos la afición por la fotografía. Aunque parezca que estaba posando, la verdad es que no tuvo mucho tiempo pues lo tomé por sorpresa.
Marcos (@danielpl) también fué mi compañero de trabajo, pero mucho menos tiempo. También es aficionado a la fotografía y está dando sus primeros pasos en ese mundo.
Antero es un fotógrafo de caché, o sea, es un gran fotógrafo, muy aficionado a la fotografía de naturaleza y de calle.

Las tres restantes fotos fueron hechas al azar en la calle, de forma sorpresiva para los sujetos.

En esa fotografía, el joven está totalmente abstraido del mundo que lo rodea, solo le ocupa lo que está viendo en su móvil.
Aquí capté el momento justo en que un hombre que regresa de su trabajo, posiblemente cansado, pasa justo delante de un lema escrito en la pared.
En esa foto capté otro hombre mayor, encorvado por los años que ya tiene sobre sus hombros, pasando por delante de otro lema.

Pude haber escogido más fotogrfía, u otras diferentes, pero no quise hacer esta publicación muy larga, para que no fuera aburrida.
