#monomad challenge for today - Lighting Vol. 7

Hello, my #monomad friends who are always hunting for some good black and white. We all know that light has the leading role when it comes to photography, after all, it is about capturing the light. Those who know to see will know that I am always on the hunt for stunning light features wherever I am. If it is antique I am in, if it is avant-garde and unusual, count me in... Does it blink? That's my shot. I simply love them. If you are a fan of this sort of photography, please be my guest and check my first , second , third , fourth , fifth and sixth gallery.

However, it doesn't matter how cool the light is, it needs the essential - light bulb. The emitter of light that it is with us since the early 1800s. The history of the light bulb begins with the discovery of electricity. In 1800, Italian physicist Alessandro Volta invented the first electric battery, which produced a steady electric current. What a breakthrough.

Later, English scientist Warren de la Rue created an early form of the incandescent light bulb by passing an electric current through a platinum wire enclosed in a vacuum tube. However, the high cost of platinum made this invention impractical for widespread use. Impractical light was invented also by Scottish inventor James Bowman Lindsay. Hence he wasn't alone in this, In the 1860s, French inventor Frederick de Moleyns patented a carbon filament incandescent lamp, but it was also impractical due to the high cost of the filament.

In 1878, American inventor Joseph Swan developed a carbon filament lamp that was practical for home use, and he demonstrated it at a lecture in Newcastle, England. However, his invention was met with skepticism, and it took several years before it gained widespread acceptance.

Around the same time, American inventor Thomas Edison was also working on developing a practical electric light bulb. In 1879, he filed a patent for an incandescent lamp that used a carbon filament, and his invention quickly gained popularity.

Edison's electric light bulb used a filament made of bamboo, which was much cheaper than previous filaments. He also developed a system for generating and distributing electricity, which made electric lighting practical for homes and businesses.

The invention of the light bulb revolutionized the world and made us photographers. Catching all the sources of light only to show the perfect moment. Which one is your favorite? Mine is a wire bulb, somehow the light from it is warm and soft. On the other hand, LED is cheap and widespread.

According to a report by the International Energy Agency, the number of LED bulbs sold worldwide increased from 150 million in 2010 to over 2 billion in 2018. This represents a significant increase in LED bulb production over a relatively short period.
