#Monomad Challenge - Otium tempus in cogitationem

Good morning, #Monomad friends

Otium tempus in cogitationem (Leisure time transformed in thought)

The pleasure of idleness... What could be better than being able to rest when you want to? Have you ever thought that few people have this privilege? Rest should be valued as much or more than work. Of course, a society can only develop with work and the help of everyone (those who can and are in a position to do so), but the guarantee of a rest period is one of the best privileges that citizens of developed countries have. The enormous value of being able to go outside and sit on a street lounger without thinking that we might be attacked by a neighboring country.... It's something that hasn't left my mind. Just over half a month away from a very important date: February 24, 2022... Almost two years ago, if we only count that period, and not the time that has passed since the invasion of Crimea: February 20, 2014. Makes you think... As my grandmother used to tell me when I was little: You only realize the true value of things when you no longer have them.

On one of my walks, I find myself meditating on how lucky I am that on this day: January 6, 2024, I traveled unhindered to the city of my country, and without a care in the world, I captured the moment of leisure of those who pass by Cais das Pombas.

May the suffering of one people in the face of the aggression of another never fall into oblivion, nor become commonplace... I hope Russia's aggression against Ukraine ends soon.
